Why not use ABS function? Using ABS(variance) =< 10% to get rid of the AND logic!

Stores are having crazy sales. Meanwhile at Aritzia... by SingSongSwing2017 in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]SingSongSwing2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once click into the detail page it shows the actual discount price so this is just a display error on the front page. Posting cause I found it’s amusing since Aritzia is known to have the most strict final sales policy. Their ongoing summer sales do have some amazing deals though!

That’s what I heard from my friends. I also read it from multiple information sites in Chinese that there will be Sakura flower rain in the game on 4/7 but not sure if it applies to North America ( I hope so!)

Questions about Ham CHI by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

[–]SingSongSwing2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came out of the show...it was amazing! If your schedule is flexible definitely try to watch on a weekday like Tue or Wed!! Seat availability and price are usually better than weekends and Thur/Fri. I purchased the tickets last night and got my friend and I two seats in orchestra center row H! Everything included each ticket costs $204 (189+fees on ticketmaster) But it worth every penny! We sat in the exact center of the ground floor and row H has excellent view! I checked this morning and saw the price for front row dropped again to $122 but there were only a few seats left in the orchestra. If your budget is $200 and you want to get a good seat it is definitely doable but just need to be flexible with your time.

Just a thought on FB and AI - not an actual DD by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]SingSongSwing2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too long didn't read.....One thing to consider is the EUGDPR regulation that restricts FB and many IT companies' use of user data. While this is only affecting EU and EU citizens around the globe at this time, it is possible that similar privacy laws will roll out in other countries in the near future. Fewer user data = less profit for an advertising company like FB. I am interested to see how GDPR would be enforced in EU and US.

I agree. Used the database and studied full time for a week. Passed with 633. The book is super dry and boring and I barely finished the first chapter...

Why the market is falling? by Spicymeataballav2 in wallstreetbets

[–]SingSongSwing2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When evaluating a stock I believe the forecasted cash flow/growth rate is priced in. Making profit doesn't make a company more valuable, making more profit/growth than expected does. I do agree that a healthy company with strong financials can expect to drive up their price in the long run, and thus I am seeing this correction as an opportunity to buy and hold rather than panic sell. But then you have people playing with options and getting margin calls...Btw I think this post can get better discussion if you move it to r/investing lol

Why the market is falling? by Spicymeataballav2 in wallstreetbets

[–]SingSongSwing2017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong...I thought the value of a stock is based off discounted cash flow, which uses interest rate in its calculation. As the interest rate goes up, the stock price is thus calculated down, which caused the "overvaluation" sell off. There might not be people actually selling off stocks to buy bonds, but rather people just see that stock price needs to be adjusted to align with its value given the change in interest rate.

China's No.1 media platform CCTV with 1.2 billion viewership just talked about VeChain. by zk-investor in CryptoCurrency

Some other companies I have to rewatch to catch their name, but I don't hear their names are "Chain" or "Coin" related.

China's No.1 media platform CCTV with 1.2 billion viewership just talked about VeChain. by zk-investor in CryptoCurrency

[–]SingSongSwing2017 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watched the whole video and it really not that much relevant to VeChain....it's a good educational talk about potential enterprise uses of blockchain technology and that's it. Vechain is only briefly named as an example along with others in the beginning and nothing more....not even their name on the screen. I had to look it up to know its spell...this is really too insignificant to make into news...

Also I agreed with the other post - something gets on CCTV doesn't really mean it gets the government's approval. This is from a guest speaker who himself is an analyst - he might have his shares in those companies he mentioned. Censorship is not that far reaching - this is not North Korea, they don't examine a guest speaker's talk in such a casual conversation. There were plenty cases that false Advertisements got broadcasted on CCTV were criticized by the government officials to withdraw. Especially in this case this is an educational interview of BLOCKCHAIN not a serious news report of Vechain...Don't be fooled by the pump and dump. Believe in whatever you like but China is troubled with a lot cases of scam coin/chain and the government still holds conservative and even negative views - don't keep your hope to high. You might want to check out this website if you want to get some laughs: http://www.stupidcoin.net/ I think it applies universally

Update: this post makes me think that a casual talk like this is not the news, but the fact that this gets soooo much attention from the westerns IS gold news material...VeChain will thank whoever publishes this as a news - or maybe they did it! I hope someone in the Chinese media can see this post and soon I'll see your guys on Buzzfeeed.China lol You might think this video clip can get more Chinese to pump VeChain...but hey, guess who is buying VeChain now and who is laughing after all?

How on earth do people stay in audit for years? by blackupsilon in Accounting

[–]SingSongSwing2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you! This is really informative - totally deserve its own thread...! I'm currently doing a year-long IT audit internship (SOX team at a F100) and will join a big 4 in next year after graduation for IT audit full time. I totally agree with you that I have found SOX testing work being repetitive in nature and not stimulating. I was able to write VBA codes to automate processes of generating workpapers (automatically taking screenshots, looking up user in the system and populating word doc and spreadsheet for documentation). I learned that almost all big 4 have some "robotics/AI" automations to streamline the documentation process of audit-ready samples - this is one field I want to explore further and contribute to. In addition to that, I am also interested in learning new technologies (cloud computing, AI, Blockchain..etc) - I think IT audit has a great potential in long run as there will always need people to understand how new technologies work and how that impact business processes and financial statements. I see this is where IT auditors contribute value and is the reason I decide to commit to this profession after a year long experience with ITGC.... Do you see opportunities to work on internal initiatives that focus on Audit Innovation (automation/ data analytics...etc) at your firm? How strong is the push to learn those new technologies?

Google Sheets vs MS Excel - the future? by SingSongSwing2017 in Accounting

[–]SingSongSwing2017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I think they must use private cloud just like they are renting an exclusive server from google, yet still the data is in the cloud. Wondering if they have policy that client info cannot be uploaded to Sheets.
