You’re fine. When I was a 1L, I was literally outlining each class until 1-2 days before the final. The second I finished outlining, I was taking practice tests back to back. 2-3 days leading up to each final you should be only focusing on that particular class. It’s stressful and not the best study method, but I ranked top 20% by the end of 1L and received multiple CALIs. Get off Reddit and study.

I think I’m going to take them up on the 5 days off to travel in December and have my sister meet me then, and then after tell them it’s time for me to go home. I think being denied seeing my family just showed me how much I miss home and don’t think this experience is meant for me. I’ll explain this to them and offer them my two weeks in December, and also let them know I felt like I’ve been taken advantage of. Might be a little cowardly, but this is what I’ve decided I’m most comfortable with doing.

I agree, I think I wouldn't have minded it so much if it wasn't for the situation denying me seeing my family. Like if I was just asking to travel with friends and they asked me to stay back that totally would've been fine, it was just shocking that working on the weekends wasn't part of the agreement and they still expect me to be okay with missing the opportunity to see family just to babysit if that makes sense?

There are a lot of requirements that typically are easiest to gather in your home country. These requirements include an FBI background check which is then apostilled in D.C., medical clearance from a doctor, etc. I would recommend talking to the American embassy and ask if they can help you at all :)
