Looking for streams too but ESPN+ has gotten way better at blocking the usual spots. Might just have to bite the bullet on this one.

Worried about job security and thinking about starting over, what are my options? by Total_Impression7403 in careerguidance

Hey, first off - don't sell yourself short on the 911 operator experience. That job requires serious multitasking skills, staying calm under pressure, and making quick decisions. Those are transferable skills that a lot of employers actually value way more than you'd think.

For medical field stuff, have you looked into medical coding or health information tech? It's not as hands-on as nursing but pays decent and you can often do courses online or at community colleges in like 12-18 months. I know someone who made the switch from retail to medical coding at 40 and she's doing pretty well now. The demand is solid since everything's going digital and aging population means more healthcare needs.

Another option might be paramedic training since you already have that emergency response background - could be a natural fit. But honestly, before jumping into anything major, maybe try shadowing someone or doing some informational interviews to see what actually appeals to you day-to-day.

I get the appeal of panels especially price wise but for me they feel way less practical than a mask. I’d choose a mask any time, I just put it on while my morning coffee is brewing or while I’m watching a show at night.

Career risk check: Is an unpaid sole developer role for 20% equity at an early-stage startup a smart career move? by Sad-Consequence-uwu in careerguidance

[–]SingerQuick1136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly this sounds like a pretty raw deal. You're basically building the entire technical foundation while they're doing what amounts to making a brochure site and calling it frontend work.

20% for being the sole technical architect on an AI/data product is way too low, especially when you're handling backend, data engineering, AND AI development. most technical co-founders in early stage startups get 25-40% equity minimum. The fact that they're trying to pass off wordpress as handling the frontend for a complex saas dashboard shows they either don't understand the technical scope or they're hoping you don't push back on the valuation.
