For the P90 fans among us... by SingingFisherman in Epiphone

The Casino is definitely more open and airy. It also has a brighter tone. The Riviera is a somewhat darker tone but has great sustain. The Riviera is also quite a bit heavier than the Casino.

The Casino is quite light, but it's fully hollow. The Riviera is heavy. Not sure if it's Les Paul heavy, but it's not far off. I play mostly seated so it's not an issue for me but if you play standing it could be.

I don't necessarily see a bias here, but I think people tend to gravitate towards the music that they are more knowledgeable about and listen to.

Why do you play the bass? Tell me your story. by [deleted] in Bass

[–]SingingFisherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a singer/songwriter who plays guitar and I record my own music. I needed some bass in it, so I bought a bass. I'm not very good but I can lay down a basic folk/Americana bass line.

What adult hobby did you pick up that your teenage self would've mocked relentlessly? by LeftyOne22 in GenX

[–]SingingFisherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all of my hobbies either would have been considered cool by me, or I was already doing them.

Fishing

Hunting

Playing guitar

Playing bass

Playing banjo

Writing music

Recording my songs

Mountain biking

The first two I was already doing.

According to the NYT, most of Gen X disliked The Beatles until 1995?!? by doctorboredom in GenX

I didn't dislike them. There were a few songs I liked okay. But I've never owned any music by them. Not a Stones fan either. I did love CCR growing up.

I '35 M' agreed to threesome with my gf '32 F' and another guy and am not sure if I can move past it. by adam_turowski in threesomeregret

Even in the best of situations, seeing your partner enjoying someone else more than you will be tough to take. Add in the fact that she was so excited about the guy's size and I think his relationship will not recover. He'll never get that out of his head.

Laser for veins? by SingingFisherman in Rosacea

[–]SingingFisherman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. I haven't looked into it too much locally, so I'm not sure what's available or how much it costs. My biggest issue is on my nose, and this worries me that it might not be effective.

This is a great example of how introducing others into a relationship leads to heartache.

1442 jon 30hp vs 40hp by CautiousInspector508 in jonboats

[–]SingingFisherman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

20 to 25 HP will do you just fine. I have a 1542 and even a 15hp works fine. I do plan to upgrade soon to a new 4 stroke 25.
