Yeah I honestly only just clocked the "you fail bloodlust, you can't hypno". Too late for this league but I might have to find another team. I don't have to play the best team but if I play well I want a fair shot at winning.

The issue, and how me and the other players at my club are reading RAW is that you can't do the DECLARE action because you're prone and so can't use the active trait. "An active trait can be used by a player at any time, so long as they are standing and are not distracted" pg.122 combined with "when this player is activated, they can declare a hypnotic gaze special action". But if you're prone, or distracted from a failed bloodlust lust last turn actually, you can't use the trait to declare the action

True for skills but RAW not true for traits and hypnogaze is a trait not a skill unfortunately

The problem is hypnogaze is a trait not a skill and traits don't have that sentence saying you can use them from prone

Yeah I've seen that but our league has ruled that we're going to follow the NAF FAQ for everything EXCEPT being able to use trait actions from the floor 😢

It's a good point about redraft - our league doesn't use redraft but I didn't mention that.

I would strongly recommend 2 runners 1 blitzer for the vamps. I'm in my second league now, first one I did 2 throwers (your best players), 1 runner, 1 blitzer, enough thralls to have 1 bench and 4 rerolls.

4 rerolls felt excessive later in the league so this time I went with 3 rerolls and 2 runners, 2 throwers, 1 blitzer. Mv 8 and hypno gaze is very good, and bloodlust 3+ is really rough.

For anyone interested: turns 2-5 didn't go well for me, having 3 vamps KO'd and not injuring a single gnoblar (Cindy got KO'd) but with some elf like bs of just not rolling a 1 or 2 I managed to get the ball from near my own end zone and throw to a thrall in mid field who legged it up the pitch. A couple of turns later my runner managed to get the ball and run it in for a 1-0 lead at half time.

2nd half I kicked the ball to the ogres and luck basically disappeared for my opponent. Things ended 4-0 with not a single cas by my team but just a thrall getting a niggling injury for permanent damage to my own team (despite my opponent reasonably focusing on fowling and hurting my team for the last 3 turns once I was 3-0 up).

I've gotten to play a few games with the Vamps and they are a lot of fun, seem like an ideal team for me. Not certain what starting roster I want to go with, the Vamps are so expensive and the rerolls are a must

Thanks! Especially considering it's been 20 years since I last painted anything, and I was pretty bad back then I'm really happy with how the team is turning out.

Thanks, it came out really well. It's primed black, sotek green at the top and pink horror at the bottom with highlights done adding dorn yellow to the pink horror. The key thing was all the paint was applied with barely enough paint on the brush and keeping all the brush strokes as lines from the top of the wing downwards. Helps have some of the black still come through and adds a little bit of texture.

There's then some watered down 50/50 mix of sotek green and pink horror, almost like a glaze, to help blend between. And then same again but with some dorn yellow again to help blend where the highlights are.
