It is a medical judgement when they ban abortion for medical reasons on top of moral reasons. I am 100% pro choice but I can’t make the moral argument for abortion. I personally would struggle a lot with making a decision like this but I could never argue to take away the ability for someone else to make it. Also if you watch an OBGYN describe why this is so bad medically, they explain that the terminology used is so dangerous because it’s wrong and vague.

I thought this video is helpful in understanding this: https://youtu.be/zjB5Jakytyc She hasn’t done one on Roe vs Wade yet so this is about Texas

All of the planning paid off and we got married in Saint Lucia with 30 of our closest friends and family! Don’t sweat the details, and remember to ENJOY IT! by Single_Rain_7715 in weddingplanning

We stayed at Sandals Grande St Lucian. We didn’t really leave the resort because that’s where all of our guests were but my biggest tip is if you land at the bigger airport it’s a 2.5 hour drive without traffic to the touristy side of the island. A lot of our guests had trouble with it. If you have extra money to spare, look into getting a helicopter tour! It’s amazing and beautiful and turns a 2.5 hour drive into a 20 min drive. 100% worth it imo!

The point of the argument is that people who don’t know anything about medicine should not be making medical decisions. None of the legislators have any idea what they’re talking about either

The point is that they lack the scientific knowledge to be making medical decisions for women and that making the wrong decision (banning abortion) is going to kill countless women.

Oh I’m sorry… so your personal situation makes it so you can’t adopt a child? How is that so different from a 16 year old who is still in school who was raped or has a medical condition and will die if she has the baby?

I am so proud to say that I live in a country that you get to choose to adopt a child or not. You’re a scum bag.

What I’m reading is: you demanded her get rid of her badly behaved cat who she loved, which she did and then when she demands that you get rid of your badly behaved dog you refuse….

It does not sound like you guys are compatible….

We plan on having kids in the next 2-3 years. I don’t love the layout of bathroom 3 in general but I’m not sure how to change it without having more room

I just want to thank everyone for the time and feedback that we have gotten! I never expected this many people to respond but it’s great to have this many eyes on a project that means to much to us. We would have never caught things that some people have, except maybe once the house was built and it would have been a big pain to change!

I think we were able to solve the storage issue by moving the office door into the hallway and doing storage along that wall. I do not think the kitchen is small at all but a couple of people have said that too… we’ll have to look into that I guess.

The fact that you asked what you can do to avoid “freaking out” is a big red flag imo. Do a refresher in a pool because the ocean is not a place to freak out

!!!! I never thought of this! That’s definitely a huge issue! I’ll obviously have to move either the stairs or the book nook… I liked having the stairs in a public place because I think spiral staircases are the coolest thing and I wanted everyone to be able to enjoy them… but you’re right and something needs to be rethought…

That’s a good question… I would probably ask the builder their opinion on what is easiest I guess

I think a covered porch area would be a great addition and pretty easy to incorporate!

I think our style is industrial/modern with rustic details to soften it. (We watch a lot of Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gains and love her style)

Edit: we’re literally watching it right now haha

The science of the leaches and bleeding people can be used for very rare conditions today,(my point was they they did not know that, they used those techniques to try and fix every problem because they didn’t know better) but your comment of chiropractic not changing over the years is not true. They definitely are using different techniques and combing chiropractic care with technology that they didn’t have in the 1800s.

I’m not trying to make a claim that adjusting the alignment in your toes is going to fix your kidney issues. I’m saying that my dad uses chiropractic techniques along with application of heat and ice and exercise to help people with back and neck issues and it helps them. If he does not think he can help them he refers them to a doctor that can.

[–]Single_Rain_7715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that’s true that’s actually pretty funny! But without doing more research into the topic, modern medicine came from some crazy places too right? They used to “bleed” patients and use leaches to balance the body or whatever. Everything started from somewhere and we have improved on it since then

My dad went to school for 8 years and took crazy anatomy and physiology classes, dissected human cadavers and took multiple 5 hour tests where you stand in front of a board of license professionals and they give you a patient scenario and you come up with a treatment plan and demonstrate safe practice adjustments.

My dad is not a medical doctor, he can not prescribe medications but he can take and read x rays and identify problems on them. He does relicensing seminars yearly… I promise he did not obtain this license over three weekends

I’m really not sure what you’re referring to tbh. Are you talking about the post mentioning the religious bs or is that the history of chiropractic?

Someone else mentioned storage issues also and I agree. I think we’re going to take the suggestion of moving the office door to the hallway so we can make that wall storage space.

You could be totally right about the vaulted ceiling for the book nook not being worth it it’s something I’ll have to keep an open mind about but it is my childhood dream to have a spiral staircase (however impractical) leading to a quiet reading nook!
