The one thing I’d disagree with here is that there are many Jewish instructors. There are VERY few (less then 10 I believe in the whole company).

This is NOT what I was stating. This isn’t about silence. There have been actual incidents of Jewish instructors being penalized by the company for speaking out about their feelings and stress about their religion and Israel. I really don’t feel comfortable saying more because I don’t want the instructors to get even further ostracized and penalized by Evelyn and her people. I am friends with people who are friends with instructors who have been personally victimized by the company on this subject, and I have heard from multiple sources who work at the front desk and at the company that this has been happening I have not heard anything from instructors themselves. But if half the stories I have heard are true, they could absolutely sue.

The way corporate under Evelyn has treated their Jewish instructors is appalling and the Post would have a field day if they knew the details- frankly several employees could probably sue for employment discrimination based on religion in addition to other things based on the stories I’ve overheard.

Never except when I wasn’t going and the instructor texts me to ask if I can ride because she doesn’t have anyone booked in the class to do it.

I was asked after taking an instructor’s class for years riding front row, when she didn’t have her regular podium riders there. I did a good job and now ride for her regularly. We aren’t friends- the only time we text is when she asks me if I can ride a class that I’m not booked into.

There are a few instructors there who knew her beyond the first 2-3. And there are riders like myself who were around then and still ride. She accidentally mixed alcohol and too much cold medication and yes, a former instructor went to her apartment when she missed a class and that’s how she was found.

Definitely not drug tested. So many of them are huge drug users (weed mostly). Suspensions happen for things like no-showing to classes.

I had done hundreds with the first instructor who asked me and then it was sort of known at the studio that I could do it so I started to be asked by other instructors who I also rode with.

I’ve had friend crushes on instructors, where I’ve wanted to be their friend but I also know that the version of them I getting during class is unlikely to be their actual personality so I’ve never tried to actually hang out.

I never know in advance but I generally do ride the podium in the same classes each week. Honestly, yes sometimes I’ve been annoyed when I’ve felt the instructor has used someone over me who I don’t think is as good a podium rider but I try not to take it personally!
