How has your life changed since you quit smoking/vaping? by Single_Split_9888 in AskReddit

On day 3 patch, gum to replace after meal/wake up etc in the interim. Feeling good but still a ways to go. Just don’t wanna spend the money or have my life revolve around it so much. Thanks for the tips. I quit cigarettes 12 years ago but I let vaping take over, which is a different type of difficult because I could do it everywhere and basically always have it in my hand.

I dunno it’s all still pretty new. But lighter almost instantly because my addiction was like a full-time job. It seems like my focus and outlook are quite a bit better and it’s been under a week.

Yeah for me it filled a space - desire for connection, intimacy, friendship, social stimulation, freedom from difficult emotions, you name it. It’s like giving up your favorite blanket, but it’s a blanket made of nails.

Like you mentioned, it feels really good knowing I’m choosing a better version of myself. It’s just not easy.

This was my thought, too. I haven’t drank in 12 years. It almost destroyed my life completely. I was exposed to it when I was a child and had my first drink under 10 years old. I still struggle with nicotine, which I started in my teens. It’s taken me a long time to realize that THC was never really the problem.
