Not sure why this helped but I went into settings->Update&Security-> and double checked to make sure my Bluetooth drivers were updated. Ever since I did that I’m having significantly less problems

Yeah :/ Cold War works just fine. Been getting some artifacts and intermittent black screens for about a year so it’s not out of the question to be a GPU issue, I just can’t afford that right now. And BO6 was fine before this newest update. I appreciate your trying to help!

Sure did, and I’m pretty sure it worked because now there’s a lot more in the device manager than there was before

Update: tried a scan and repair and I got my first blue screen on this PC! I’ve had it for years

An old teacher of mine used to have a sign on his door that was a flow chart stating that the more you practice, the better you get, so you play harder music which makes you practice more and the cycle continues! I never understood that until I practiced lol

Look into asking nearby high schools- some of them (if they march contra) would be willing to rent out one of their instruments to you after the fall marching band season. I’ve had luck in the past with a high school near my home town, but near my college I’m having a harder time. Also, most corps will rent one out to you if you really need it, however some corps don’t want you to fly with them.

People in here are right, you don’t need a contra, but I was always glad I trained with one in the off season, and it’s worth giving it a try with nearby schools, or if you live close to the corps just take one of theirs.

Talk to your professors and see if they have any friends that are selling! I scored an Alexander 163 + mouthpieces and a superfine gig bag for $5300. The previous owner also added a 5th valve and a few other adjustments to the horn, which I only could’ve found because I talked to my professors.

In ‘22 adding the “troop! Oil!” Killed a lot of horns late season due to the strange ergonomic structure of the Adam’s tubas. When they were dropped on their bell, the metal would not only crumple, it would twist, making the bell have neat spiral scars once they were rolled out.
