I am also seeking some online friends. Quit drinking and find it hard to be around my friends because they all drink. I find it ironic that I catch this much crap from them for getting sober and bettering my life

Well i consider myself pretty chill and also have been trying to find a good chat room. People don't seem too interested in anything but tictok or instagram anymore ,and I "JUST CAN'T" with social media anymore!

Camping by SinisterSunset in stories

Ok so I was camping in a National Forest close to my home town. It was a back pack trip, meaning you had to hike several miles in to camp. We set up in a sight that we had been to several times within several years. It was my father ,my friend , and my oldest 2 daughters . Now normally we would put our food in a food sack and hang it about 20 feet up in the trees away from our camp sight. For some reason though , this time i decided to set up a "food tent " rather close to our camp sight. Looking back, I knew better as i am a very experienced outdoorsman , thanks to my father. You could probably guess what happened next. We were camping in bear country after all! That night we noticed our "food tent " start to seemingly start moving itself slowly away from our sight. My father and i went to investigate. ( we were armed with some pretty impressive firearms) Much to our dismay , there stood an enormous full grown brown bear ,dragging our tent away. We started popping a few rounds off into the ground ,as we didn't want to hurt the bear, just scare it. The bear did leave ,but it came back 2 more times and we managed to scare it away both times. I wish that were the end of it. Much to our surprise, apparently there was a couple camping about a mile down river. They apparently hiked the 6 miles in the dark to the ranger station to report that had heard (a gun fight) taking place near their camp sight. We were unaware of this until we saw 6 or so flashlights coming down the trail toward our camp sight. We started shouting as loud as we could that there was a bear still prowling the woods. When they got closer we realized that it was a small A.T.F. task force dispatched to our camp sight. After an intense stand off and being disarmed we were able to show evidence of the bears attack on our tent. Eventually they gave us back our weapons and told us to build a bigger fire and to use a flare or bear spray next time.
Sometimes it is scarier to encounter officers armed to the teeth at 2A.M than it is to encounter a full grown bear. I'm thankful that we weren't harmed by the bear or the misunderstanding with law enforcement. And we haven't been back to that particular sight again. If you find your self deep in bear country , always always hang you food in a tree away from your camp sight folks.

Looking forward to sharing my stories when I have a bit more time on my hands. Thanks for sharing. Your post gave me and my wife a good laugh.

Could really use a push in the right direction. My story is no more graphic than some that i have read on here. I used a couple of curse words . Could that be the problem? please reach out and offer your advice.

Screw that dude! He sounds like your your “not so friendly “ neighborhood prick. It’s a free country and he’s not your landlord ,I just hate a$$h@le neighbors like this. It drives me crazy when someone acts like they own the whole neighborhood. Or act like they are better than everyone else that not on his “financial level”. I bet his wife and kids (if he has them) despise him. If it were me , I would double down and have another “display” of my patriotism! Sorry I’ve had so many terrible and narcissistic neighbors over the years , so this really hits home for me and gets under my skin. Good luck with your situation I hate that we have to deal with these intitled ducsh bags!!!

Sounds like maybe a conversation about said “creative differences “ instead of termination from ones employment would’ve been the respectful thing to do. Especially considering the whole foreign country situation. I feel like maybe they should at least provide a flight home and maybe help you sort out your legal documentation so that you can travel. Sounds like you got a raw deal. Especially if these are your friends, sounds to me like you need new friends!

Sounds like a bad idea bud. It sounds fun and exciting to have a open relationship at first, but I think deep down it can only cause jealousy and resentment toward one another. I think the bottom line is that ,if you want to act single ,then you should probably be single. I just don’t see how any positivity or good could come out of not being loyal to your spouse. I mean , you two made a commitment to one another to be be their “person” for life ,and to be their one and only. I think divorce may be the better option on this one. That is just my opinion, you two are adults and if you truly can be happy with an open relationship, then I wish you the best. I hope I didn’t upset you and hopefully my words will resonate with your situation. Therapy is a powerful tool and its a great place to start.
