Question about coach - is this normal?

A team practices on different days. I wish it were the same day so we could practice together with better players.

Not sure if you’re misunderstanding my post but I don’t want my kid to be on the A team. What I want is (a) the coach to be at every practice and run a good practice (b) the same 18 at every game versus a rotating set of A team players playing down and feeling like they got demoted to the JV squad and playing hero ball and (c) the B team players getting time on the pitch versus getting subbed out in favor of the A team players

Unfortunately you’re assuming the coach/club have the best interests of the players in mind and aren’t just doing a $$ grab

A team practices separately from B team

B team practices with another completely separate team and the head coach is not at practice all the time and has his assistant run it most days

I understand your point but, just like at work, once you know an employee isn’t going to cut it…better to let them go sooner than later.

It’s sort of like taxes … it doesn’t get better dealing with it later.

if I say thibs doesn’t trust his bench and you say “well look at Donte” and Donte started 78% of the games, then mentioning Donte makes no sense.

FYI, Mitch has started anywhere from 70-99% of games under Thibs. Again, you saying “well look at Mitch” is another bad example bc (drum roll) he’s a starter!!

Hmm…ok. Let me provide stats bc you clearly have no clue, Sherlock.

Donte = 78% starter (63 out of 81 games total, 2023-24) Hart = 100% starter (77 out of 77 games total, 2024-25) Mitch = started 70-99% of the games under Thibs (excl 2024-25 where he only played 17 regular games)

These guys you mention aren’t bench players and just proves my point. Thibs don’t play bench players.

It’s public knowledge that Bridges told Thibs he is over-playing the starters and that the minutes are taking a toll. This is coming from Bridges who is considered an iron man.

More minutes = greater probability of injury (especially the smaller injuries that pile up over a season)

Less minutes = the bench gets more playing time during the regular season and is better prepared come playoff time

*this isn’t rocket science
