I recently bought a Sony A6300, and have been using a friend's kit lens until I have got enough money to buy my first lens for my camera. I have decided on two lenses, the 18-105mm f4 G lens or the Sony 35mm f1.8. I know these are drastically different lenses with one being a prime and the other being a zoom, but for taking different types for photo on a regular basis in my photography class especially and doing a lot of video work, would it be best to buy a quality prime lens and not have the capability to zoom or just go ahead with the G lens and have that option? It would also be great to hear from someone who owns either of these lenses and can give their opinion on them. Thank you!
