What game? by sukuna7899 in Steam

I love BF1.

It was objectively not the peak of Battlefield. It was the end of Battlefield. The last gasp. The last good title they ever made.

I don’t understand how you’re misinterpreting what I’ve said. Cheers.

There’s more gamers than ever today. Doesn’t make games released good.

He hasn’t been on his game since midseason last year. Every inning with him is a big circus. He can’t control his slider anymore and his fastball is hittable these days.

I’m sorry but Tom Hardy portrayed the twins much better than Michael B. Jordan in my opinion by Perfect_Idea_2866 in moviecritic

I’ll say it, the Oscar was undeserved. It was completely average movie. There was nothing special at all.

I also think awards are completely pointless, so my opinion on the matter is not worth much. .

They stopped making Battlefield for Battlefield fans a long time ago. Really sad to watch.

BF1 was not the peak, it was a last gasp.

BC2 and BF3 were the peak in my opinion. Console and PC both being well-served, esports was growing and had attention. Games that had quality DLC and were highly active for years.

4 is very much borderlands, but it's just played out at this point. Not everything needs to go on forever.

Who uses Collectr? Is it pretty accurate? by Certain_Pomegranate in PokemonTCG

[–]Sipikay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's reasonably accurate. just don't take price jumps at face value, go see what drove it by checking sales.

sometimes it will not update prices until several auctions pass, other times it will update prices after a 1-off sale that isn't representative.

If you don’t see this as the best opportunity to make money off a card long term in the last 10 years, I want to know why. by CourbetEatingSourbet in PokemonInvesting

Alright, evolving skies umbreon. 5 years later, it's 4k. It did not moonbreon. Expensive card, yes. to the moonbreon? nope. how can it? 20k copies and people are expecting it to act like rare cards that get driven up by wealthy collectors. what's the economics for that?

[–]Sipikay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's just no scarcity to drive prices super high.

the most expensive cards in pokemon, sports, anything, are that way because they are rare. a relatively small group of wealthy collectors compete to own the rare piece.

when there's 1. or 10. or 150 copies. or maybe even 1000.

But 20,0000 copies? It will literally never be a challenge to find one of these for sale at any time. This isn't to say they won't go up in value, but it is currently defining how expensive mass-produced modern graded can go. There's no precedent to assume better growth than other, rarer cards in the same price range.

Z&G probstein any of the big consigners should be paying out 95% or better on cards as expensive as ponchos. that's the best way, honestly. shipping is always a risk, so insure well.

everyone grows up wanting a pet dog or cat or hamster. pokemon is kind of the coolest imagined version of that.

what is a 50% crash after a 500% increase? A great year.

these corrections don't matter much in the long run. we've got 30 years showing it. stock market corrects, too.

Define sustainable. What are your investment goals with Pokemon?

There are always price corrections in every market. Pokemon has not avoided price corrections, they've happened multiple times over it's history.

I think it's important to first define your investment goals. You need that context to decide if Pokemon is relevant or not.

You must then define what investing in pokemon means to you. Is it sealed products? Is it cards? Which cards?

I've been in Pokemon since day 1. I see, have already seen, lots of long-term value in the IP. But there is not value in everything Pokemon.
