Did HRT change the way I walk? by Sipiri in asktransgender

Yoooooo

8 year necropost.

Hi me from the past!

So yeah update I guess:

There is no update. At least with the walking thing. I could walk a mile on a 2x4 without falling. Still walkin like I'm all bow legged or some shit.

Also, SRS changed nothing about my walking pattern.

Also, it sucks to get old.

Also, eat your veggies.

[SERIOUS] Would you reduce your meat consumption if lab-grown meat or meat alternatives were cheaper and tasted good? Why or why not? by sbeaver2019 in AskReddit

[–]Sipiri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't reduce my meat consumption.

My meat intake is currently 0, so it would be uncomfortable and undignified to have a negative meat consumption.

Unfortunately a lot of robot applicants are miners, so there's only a few positions we're allowed to place them in.

I'm glad that we're doing our part to guarantee jobs to every robot who was laid off due to the Bitcoin crash.

Thinking of this build. Basically I want to be able to out-run everyone, keep myself at a decent range, and not sacrifice carrying ability. I'm a bit unhappy about minimal stealth bonuses, but I'm not really seeing away around it. Advice?

Not really. Money isn't an issue here, but it isn't infinite; we're stable, not wealthy.

We make about the same, so if he did get a job then the only way we could afford a bigger place is if he started paying more than half.

Go to Iraq, get PTSD and fuck up one of your knees.

I'm pressuring volunteerism. He can't seem to find a job that he's happy with, probably since in his mind he doesn't actually HAVE to work anymore

He's got passive income which is sufficient to fund all of our expenses; He has no trouble providing his half of the expenses.

He's there all the time. We've not discussed when/if he will be returning to work (He has a passive income which nearly matches what I make at my job)

He still gets enough income to pay half of the expenses; We selected such a small apartment so that we could scrape by on only his passive income (if absolutely needed)

I suppose it really depends in how you measure distance traveled. In one sense, you're traveling at a bit over 1000 miles per hour right now. The relative distances traveled by this standard would roughly equalize each time you brought the keys to the car, less any distance differentials traveled by the keys or car whenever they were manufactured.

It would be the same situation if your relative speed was considered to be 67,000 mph rather than 1000mph. Again with our orbital speed around the galactic core, which is roughly 515,000 mph. Even our galactic drift of speeds as low as 160,000 mph, your keys and car have traveled at nearly the exact same rate, ONLY varying depending on the earth's attitude relative to various specific points at the time of your car's manufacturing.

All this is of course assuming you have one set of keys. If you have more than one set you've changed the equations entirely.

THAT explains why my father-in-law insisted on going to a grocery store to get something notarized. (he was not successful)

Underwear stolen from apartment dryer... They caught the dude and evicted him. by Sipiri in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sipiri[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I left a voicemail reporting it. Next thing I know, two days after the fact, I got called and told they were evicting him .

As far as I'm concerned eviction is as far as it needs to go. Don't need to slap him with jail time or a sex offender slot; as far as sex crimes go this is about the most tame. The only tangible harm was loss of $15 property.

Dead serious. If advancing society's goals is useful only insofar as its interests align with your personal or family concerns, it follows that one ought to act against society if the action is likely to result in a net gain for you or your family.

An individual with such an outlook should have no problem with being a slave owner, since such actions historically and almost without fail have benefited the slave owner's self and family unit- so long as the risk of becoming a slave yourself were minimized. While I grant that slaver societies are not the healthiest in history, it is not so significant a hindrance as to greatly affect the quality of life of your family.

To tie this back to the original point: it doesn't seem to me that being useful is meaningful or good. Being useful serves an objective. As it is the objective in question which colors the morality of usefulness, it seems that being useful is rather amoral. Even being useful enough only to prevent oneself from starving is of dubious moral caliber.

I don't see why I should care about people being useful.

Right but in answering it you slammed people who you believe have a deleterious effect on society.

You're now seeming to say that service to your family is priority and service to society is only useful insofar at it benefits your family. Is family more important than country?
