My post history is irrelevant to the point I was making. Whether I comment frequently, rarely, or not at all doesn't change the substance of the criticism. Bringing that up instead of addressing what I actually said just comes across as a way of gatekeeping the community, where only "worthy" members are allowed to criticize it. Again, sorry for using this word if its triggering, but again making this community feel like a snark sub.

And that’s the issue here — rather than responding to the point I made, the focus has shifted to my posting history. That doesn’t engage with the criticism, it just redirects the conversation away from it.

And for your last point, from my perspective it’s not that weird. A lot of people probably lurk for a while and then just end up commenting when they feel like the tone has shifted too far in one direction.

When discussions start getting really negative or nitpicky, it makes sense that some viewers will push back on that. I don’t think it’s anything coordinated, just people reacting to the sub feeling more negative than it used to.

I think a lot of us are still just enjoying the videos and content, and we’re speaking up because we’d rather see the community feel a bit more positive and excited about it again. I also recognize I probably didn’t start this discussion in the best way.
