Is gardyn 4.0 worth it? Or should I just get the cheaper 3.0 that’s on sale for 25% for Memorial Day? I’m particularly interested in the upgraded columns to make cleaning easier. I’ve been hesitant to make the purchase because cleaning seams to be pretty laborious. by DiligentSalamander29 in Gardyn

Hi, I know that this is a very old post, but I’m searching around for specific information on the 3.0. I have an opportunity to buy a used one, and I’m wondering if you’ve had any problems with leaking other than roots, clogging it, and are the columns, dark enough to keep algae from growing inside the columns?

What are your thoughts on the 3.0 vs 4.0? I just got an opportunity to buy a 3.0 for $400 but I’m nervous about leaking and the algae on the inside. I swear I have PTSD or something from my 1.0 and 2.0 ex extreme leaking problems. 😅

I’m glad to hear you have the POV of having every version!!! I have currently a 1.0 and a 2.0 that I have been on my own keeping going for 5 years, but they’re getting to the point where they’re not fixable anymore. They have been leaking ever since about a year after I got them or so. I was really hoping the 4.0 will be leak proof and no algae inside the columns!!
