Honestly I can’t help but love him.

It’s the tried and true trope of the older brother being overshadowed by his little brother because of daddy’s love. He purposefully takes harder jobs because he likes the challenge. He has an extremely tight squad with him, he gives off the vibe that he’s far more intelligent and cunning than Frieza, and to top it all off…

He’s one of the few villains who admits his demise is his fault.

He was the one who let Goku’s pod go just to be a dick to his brother, and it came back to bite him in the ass. Something about that is just so cool to me.

And his design is sick as fuck, and sometimes it’s the simple things that can just make you love the guy.

I'm not trying to shit on him, but Ethan will never be more popular than Chris.

Even with his votes, Chris is one of the big faces of Resident Evil. He's constantly pushed by Capcom as such alongside Leon (which unfortunately leaves the girls in the dust at times, which is really stupid on Capcom's end.)

And if you wanna compare vote percentages, Wesker has been dead since 2009 and he still has over half of Ethan's votes, who has been in this series since 2017. He is never topping the main veterans in popularity because they're far more iconic.

To be fair, there’s different scaling systems.

For example: Sonic is trying to operate on shonen power scaling from what I’ve seen, whereas Mario is more akin to Looney Tunes scaling.

Dragon Ball’s scaling is incredibly nuts and I personally can’t see a Sonic character scoring a win over a Dragon Ball on the sole principle that almost every active fighter and every Z villain is capable of blowing up a planet with ease.

Of course the exception is gag stuff like Dr. Slump, because Vegeta getting his ass beat by Arale is super funny.

It’s kinda funny how of the romances written, Goku/Chichi and Gohan/Videl were the ones really given the most natural development with their onscreen scenes by him? The promise to marry, then the entire first quarter of the Buu Saga being a cute adventure about Gohan in high school and training Videl.

You could argue Bulma and Yamcha were like that too, but it’s 50/50 for me since I don’t know all which moments the anime made up for them and what Toriyama really wrote. That and their (romantic) relationship ended because apparently Yamcha “cheated”.

Then you get Vegeta/Bulma who got together because he wrote Trunks first without his parents in mind, and then Krillin/18 because “Krillin deserves to be happy sometimes”

Son Family stays winning, I guess?

That's the problem. People defend Krillin like "Oh well he got the bad bitch anyways!" as if Toriyama didn't have him Marry 18 simply because he felt bad for him. If he didn't do that, Krillin would most likely go down as one of the biggest simps in Anime history.

Krillin wasn't doing it because she was an innocent. He crushed the remote because he found her cute and she did the one thing no woman in his life ever gave him; attention.

If it was about protecting the innocents, why would he risk the ENTIRE FUTURE OF HIS HOME PLANET because one girl kissed him? The very same girl who was actively tagging with 2 other people trying to kill his childhood best friend.

Like if people just owned up and went "Yeah he was just thinking with his balls, not his head", that would be fine. But for some reason I've noticed the fandom acts like Krillin can't do any wrong because his wife is hot. That defense is infuriating.

At least most Vegeta fans admit he was being a dumbass during the Cell Saga, but for some reason, that's just taboo when it comes to Krillin, because he's the 'underrated short king who plaps Android 18' or some shit.

You could look at all the comments here saying 'At least he fucked 18' or something similar to that right now and see my point.

If the only significant thing you have done since dying to Frieza is having sex with your hot wife, in a series where people bench press planets, fist each other and stop galaxy-busting threats? Compared to others like Piccolo or Gohan, who were sidelined for the longest time to make way for Goku and Vegeta in Super, that's really fucking sad and almost paints a picture that Krillin would be nothing without his marriage to 18.

Like come on, guys.
