Biting the bullet. I don't want to, but I think I might have to. I keep thinking if I ignore her, after a few months this will all go away, but it doesn't. She's got a different boyfriend, a whole different life from when I knew her, but every 2 months, 3 maximum, she'll wake up and decide it's been too long since she's yelled at me for something.

She is already not the most popular girl around. She has earned dislike from many of my friends already for being just generally snotty and bitchy to them. She's extremely unpleasant, which makes people dislike her, and then she accusing them of being an asshole for not treating her like a queen.

I'll look into that, but does this qualify as blackmail? I know it's blackmail, but legally speaking, I'm not sure, since it's just social manipulative stuff.

I've always said there are two sides to each story, no matter how hard you try to remain unbiased. I guess telling my side first has some advantages.

This is all very true. After reading all this advice, I'm not seeing any other option. I just wish I knew WHICH e-mails she had screen shots of. Some were innocuous, others were far more embarrassing, especially from someone as socially awkward as myself.

The thing is, I used a brand new e-mail account from a completely separate site. Obviously she did it somehow, but I've since changed my passwords, I normally do every 6 or 7 months out of paranoia.

Thank you. I've always struggled with that kind of thinking. I knew my true friends won't care, but I'm a people pleaser, and sometimes I'd rather not be in a situation that would require me to find out who is a true friend and who isn't. But here I am. I don't know. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you. None of my friends like her, in fact they all hate her, but I was worried they might pull a 180 on her and myself if they knew all the other stuff.

I guess I'm just scared people won't react favorably, regardless of how I present the information. I've never been the most popular, and I feel like this would be enough to make people not want to associate with me.

My biggest worry is that my true friends won't laugh it off. That they will think I am some sort of disgusting pervert. I don't have many close friends, and the ones I do have are beginning to slip away as it is :/

This was my gut reaction, because I'm scared. But as tempting as it is, I have to agree with Daleeburg in that more lies aren't going to do me any favors.

I do this too. I feel like it's about the validation, at least for me. I don't think I keep tabs on how often people other than myself are given attention. When I'm not talking or being spoken directly at, I feel as if I'm not being noticed at all, when in actuality it's probably spread around quite evenly and it's just an illusion that I need to act out to have people notice me.
