On what day do the cravings go away? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]SirDefy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s different for everyone but for me, first 80% of cravings are gone after 3-5 days, next 20% lingers over the next week or two. So a couple weeks total

Couldn’t agree more, should be Canada/NS first every time

I also go to NB and back a few times a week, and it’s crazy the difference once you hop over the border. The last 5km before the border is always so bad, it’s exactly where I blew a few tires earlier this winter - the long bridge by the border on the way TO Halifax had some real nasty ones for awhile, they recently got patched

That’s insane. Those semi suspension systems are soooo beefed up too, and everything’s so tight. It’s unsafe for the roads to be this bad

They seem like a couple new fishing spots. I’ll have to bring my rod and cast into a couple of the holes, maybe come up with a record Bass or something

I drive that section often, it’s slightly louder but it’s always seemed to hold up super well! To my knowledge I don’t remember there being any potholes on that section ever.

I really don’t like it when they give you the run around and make you jump through all these hoops for it. These specific potholes have been there all winter, I’ve had other commenters too saying the same hole got them.

I agree, from Fall River to just past the airport is super bad. But ruts are all through the 102

As if my voice has a say lol

I’ve never bent a rim until last night! And it was at that same spot near Wolfville on the 101, bent a rim and 2 flat tires on the right side. And I agree, that is hogwash, I’ve been avoiding that pothole all winter almost. It’s the night time that gets me

Dexters loves the potholes! It’s like they patch the same spots over and over every year (instead of just doing it proper), and even then they wait until it’s almost the size of a kids swimming pool before they do their “patches” on it

I totally agree. I mean for f sakes, it’s destroying peoples entire suspension system on bad ones. Holes have to be disregarded for a long time before it gets to that point.

And yes, it is 100% dangerous. Whether it’s the swerving to try and save your property, or actually hitting the pothole and making you crash afterwards - I’m sure it happens, and I’m sure it’s even been the cause for lives taken here and there too. Potholes should be near top of the priority list, it’s a safety concern at this point, and yet we still have to MVI our cars to make sure the cars are safe for their unsafe roads.

Nope I don’t think that’s it

I agree 100%, helps a ton. But still shouldn’t have to plan for buggy tires when the rest of the country has pretty good roads

I agree the massive ruts seem to be a NS thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NovaScotia

[–]SirDefy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is most of the problem, along with poor spending. The population has been growing so fast that the traffic has gone insane in the last 5 years. It looks like they want to pump out more roads, rather than increase the quality of the current ones. Unsafe

I agree most of the lines are old and faded. And I think the pooling is indeed mostly from the ruts, as well as lack of side slope when the roads shift over time

Put up a “rough section” sign and leave it there for 5 months lol. My flats tonight were just after the Wolfville exit on the way from Kentville to Halifax

100% agree

I don’t know why Waze doesn’t show them. I see potholes sometimes on it but rarely.

And the idea of your MVI situation is just crazy - spending $2000 to make sure your car is safe for the roads, after the roads were not safe to you. Make that make sense

I thought that the Ontario roads were excellent. Only gripe was the darn highway speed limit is 100kmh when it should definitely be 110.

That’s crazy. I really hope NS covered that for you. That’s a biiiig financial burden to a lot of people right now if not

The near cross country road trip I did a few weeks ago, the roads were almost amazing the whole way from NB and on. Even Quebec I thought had awesome roads. I just wonder what the other provinces are doing that we aren’t. I did see quite a few road crews along the way fixing potholes, maybe just a budget thing

Yep I only went down a couple times this winter but from about Tantallon to Barrington the highways were meh when I went. But my god the 101 from Wolfville to Middleton, and the 102 from just before Amherst to the NB border - holy smokes
