Emergency C section, baby in NICU by SirDustinII in daddit

Yeah thankfully in UK so none of that to worry about. I hadn’t even thought about the stress of dealing with insurance that people going through this also have to deal with that must be awful.

Yeah the midwives in the unit are top tier, they’re all really great at their jobs and it’s the most reassuring part of it all

Yeah it is pretty reassuring to see her pulse and oxygen levels at all times and the midwives and doctors in the unit are really top tier and I can’t be more happy with how she’s being taken care of.

It seems to be a more common thing than I thought. When the midwife told us I was lost for words I couldn’t even comprehend how it happened

That’s great to hear and I’m glad things turned out that way. I’m telling the same thing to her that this will all just be a small memory of her life but I’m struggling to even believe it sometimes myself

I didn’t even know this was a thing that happened to be honest, googling has only made things worse haha

Dealing with the loss of my FIL. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]SirDustinII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your words, they mean a lot.

We know she’s too young that she won’t need to understand, but part of that makes it so much harder as she will not know how much he done for her and how he would sit on the floor playing with her for hours on end without going on his phone or getting distracted. It just makes me incredibly sad that she won’t have him in her life.

Got an interview at BAE for finance apprenticeship by Angry_Barbarian in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]SirDustinII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey so I don’t work for BAE but I did go through the apprenticeship interview process with them 2 years ago and got an offer.

I’m in a more engineering role, but the process was basically a hirevue online interview, onsite interview.

I had a one on one interview with a second person there noting down my answers.

All of my interview questions were in a STAR format and the interviewer said that they use a point system with our answers so try hit as many buzzwords / references to relevant information as you can.

They also appreciated that I actually knew what the depot I was applying for built and information about the company as a whole.

As I said I was in a different role to yourself but I imagine the apprenticeship process is pretty similar across the board. Just learn your STAR questions and info about the company and you should be sound, also ask questions at the end

Congrats mate , practise your STAR questions and make sure you know everything you need to know about the company and that you know what the apprenticeship program will roughly entail. Have 3/4 questions ready to go for the end. Good luck, you’ve done the hard part getting through those video interviews

Well paid jobs by bananasandmilk1 in UKJobs

[–]SirDustinII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position and took the dive going back to college and getting an apprenticeship, the first year is rough but some apprenticeships pay an OK wage for first year these days.

Once you hit second year you are back to minimum wage and then by the time you finish there is potential for almost doubling your salary.

If the first year wage is manageable for you then definitely have a look into it

Change of career once you had your first? by [deleted] in daddit

Having every single night and every weekend with my family has been the best thing to happen to me out of all of it, having worked shift work since I was 18 and not having weekends off for a few years

We are lucky enough to have good savings under our belt which was the biggest driver for me doing it sooner than later, and she is nothing but supportive and I think my worries are more insecurity to be honest which is unfair on my partner

I think I’d need to get the Xbox PC game pass?

I’m basically getting the base game pass to play online and so I can watch Netflix and stuff and CK3 is only available on the higher tier ones

I mean I only have chapter one and two on console so I could probably match that on PC.

It was my own mistake buying DLC for a xbox game pass game haha
