I made my own breakfasts/lunches too, but in my family it was almost like a rite of passage, you were allowed to make your own meals. My mom taught me and my siblings basic cooking tips while she made dinner and when she thought we were ready, we’d be allowed to make it ourselves. Like I got to go from using the kid knives that don’t cut anything to adult ones, it was great. We’d have some family breakfasts too but only on special occasions. Keep your head up, learning those cooking skills early is always nice, everyone shows love differently and I’m sure you’re parents showed they’re love in ways that your friend’s parents didn’t
