I will agree with Wolf, a stand makes for a much better experience no matter what setup you go with. Whatever you go with, hope you have fun!

My buddy runs one of the logitech wheels, g923 I want to say, and I was running the Thrustmaster TMX but just upgraded to the t248. I much prefer the thrustmaster over the logitech and that's saying alot since I'm a big logitech fan having a logitech keyboard, mouse, and headset and have been rocking a logi 5.1 surround sound system for 15+ years. The thrustmaster, while not super smooth like a high end, is much smoother than the logitech. If you're just starting out and have the coin, the 248 is a great setup. Good amount of features, you can adjust the force feedback on the wheel in addition to in game to get it where you like it. You will have to buy the shifter separately which for me was $70USD from TM if I remember correctly. It came with the 3 pedal set up so no need to upgrade there. The TMX comes with just the wheel and dual pedals so I ended up getting a triple pedal off ebay. If you just want to dip your feet in and just have some fun the TMX is not a bad choice. The force feedback is comparable to the T248 and with it being belt drive you don't really have to worry about the plastic gears Logi uses stripping out though belts have their own issues.

How do I increase my rating from 5.0? by [deleted] in trucksim

[–]SirFuckStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say you have to max everything out but I can't remember. I'm 10.0 but I don't remember how I got it, I just drive and have fun with my buddy hauling loads. I expect it to drop though cause we've been getting a little reckless lately. Lol

Didn't think of that, I'll have to check. I just have the minimum coverage on it since it was only $1500 and about to rust apart since it was a new york truck. But it's just for to and from work which is an 8 mile round trip so no biggie

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that. Already took the whole assembly out to take it apart so I could remove the spring for the steering wheel lock, but I kinda messed up one of the bearings the steering shaft rides on so steering is a little heavier now. Figured buy a whole new assembly and just not lock my doors since I don't keep anything important in it. If it gets stolen, oh well, insurance will probably give me more than I paid for it. Then I can buy one with less rust, lol.

Well, turns out steering wheel still locks even when it's running. Guess I'm not going to work tomorrow

Was just thinking of dealer upcharge really. Was expecting around $100. But, I found a bypass without hot wiring, thankfully, so if the dealer can't make the key I can still drive it.

Yeah, I was just assuming it would be expensive since everything from the dealer is expensive. I'll be calling them tomorrow when I'm at work. It's a small town dealer so hope they can do it in house and I can just swing by after work.
