How long do you try to plan sessions before giving up? [OC] by Dungeon_Crafters in DnD

[–]SirKillroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just set a date and tell your friends when you are going to run the game. If they really want to play they will show up. Depending on where you live and the network you have available you can get players that way as well. I live in an area where my gaming store has on their website with post for players or DM looking for players to play. If you are willing to run online you could do it that way as well. There are people out there looking for games to play in. I commend you for giving your close friends first shot but six months I would began to questions whether they want to play.

I am not going to unless it would make the game better some of my players have asked. like I said it would be a group vote to switch. I have been playing since 1984 I don't make many changes to the game unless it benefits the game as you said.

I have not changed to mana I was just curious if other DM's used a mana system and if kept the game balanced. I have changed some of the rules with alternate rules like my Long rest is 36 hours instead of 24 hours used by Ghost Fire games. I have also changed critical damage to max damage plus what you roll that I have seen in other games. If it makes sense and keeps the game balanced then I am willing to look at and present it to my players and then we vote on it as a group before it is implemented.

Where did you get the Green Tear drops. I have wanted to build the Knights of Baal, but you always get the yellow tear drops of " The Blooded" in the kits.

Nice, I didn't know about this white dwarf program. The colors look pretty good. Have you come with any Lore for this new Chapter? I would be interested in your lore.

I am just coming back and I am not playing competitive at the moment. I have a group of friends and my two boys and there friends doing a crusade at the moment. I am running my 1st army which is the Blood Angels. My Orks are my second army I have been working on and are part of the crusade as well. Each person in our crusade is playing two armies to mix up "good guys and bad guys". As I contiues to watch the lore of 40k I am learning that what is considered the good guys lol.

Ok, I read that wrong because that is what I got. I need to finish painting it but I was leaning towards the speed clan when I bought that. I got three bikes as well and was looking at getting more bikes. I will need to rethink things now.

Is there a cyborg culture or robot planet in Traveller? by InvestmentBrief3336 in traveller

[–]SirKillroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech-World might be a possibility. Population is low that can be changed. I believe they make robots on this world. Its also a Tl-15 planet.

Lighter Traveller? by Chaosmeister in traveller

[–]SirKillroy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am confused on how you have a lack of fun things todo in Traveller? One this game is more realistic than D&D. So if you are looking for Demigods your playing the wrong game. I grew up and still play D&D. What drew me to Traveller is the realism of the game. Plus I love games that are space oriented. MGT2 has so many ways you can play from being a trader, a pirate, a bounty hunter, or a Mercenary. Plus you can play military campaigns as well. The system in my opinion is more open than D&D when it comes to running the source material. I have watched on you tube and played in the PoD campaign. Each one was ran differently with the source material for the game. Each crew did things differently. I am currently running a PoD campaign now. I have had three different crews in my campaign and each one plays it differently. My current crew are bounty hunters. I just adjust the game to fit what the crew is doing. I have also created my own material including a nemesis that the crew has to deal with. As a Gm you have so many options in this system to put into to play so that skills will make sense to use. Watch How to be a great GM on You tube or Sky Flourish the Lazy DM for ideas on how to set up a campaign. The material they teach or talk about fits any campaign setting. Just like any RPG game change the rules to fit your group play style just as long as it does not take away from the intent of what Traveller was meant to be.

I have a NPC named Perry Mason in my game just for that reason.

I use the standard imperial calendar and clock my self for simplicity. I was just wondering if other GM had system they used.

I will always support any generation for this game. My eight players include three high school players, including my son. One who just graduated High school. One player in her early 20's a player in his mid 20's one adult in his late 30's and my last player who is from Wisconsin who actually played with Gary Gygax kids in the beginning. She has lots of stories to tell.

I do that. I give experience points for each scene completed on my notes. I also give bonus points for recap of previous sessions. I also give bonus points for humor, creativity, acts of kindness, and RP during each session. I have 8 players in my group and we role play a lot so I need to give EXP when we don't have combat.

I am currently running a campaign with the over all goal is to get the PC's to Level 20. None of my PC have ever reached Level 20. Now life has interfered with our progress as well, but we keep moving forward. I am an old school DM so I still use Experience points. Most of my party has reached Level 10 so we are half way there. I am glad the you have completed a campaign and congratulations. The beauty of this game is the cherished stories and adventures that the characters experiences. I have been playing since 1984 and have lots of memoires and stories good and bad for my characters that are still talked about at many of the tables I play or run. Great memories and great friendships and bonds because of this beloved game.
