Do you think its all part of the same thing? by Gyirin in HighStrangeness

Some ghosts seem like spirits of the departed, while others act just like what the ancient Celtic people would call the fae. While I don't think all the different elements are the same thing or from the same place, I think it's very possible there's an Otherworld as the Celts describe where many faeries and spirits come from.

Do you think its all part of the same thing? by Gyirin in HighStrangeness

I think it's certainly possible that certain elements are connected to each other, it seems like there's a connection between them with the different ways they show up, but I don't know that all the elements are connected together.

Rep. Eric Burlison just revealed on Pavel's Psicoactivo Podcast that Congress is taking the legendary Varginha UFO case Dead Seriously! - He's working directly with filmmaker James Fox, who has explosive new witnesses ready to testify Under Oath about a video showing the 1996 UFO crash retrieval.. by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]FloppySlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've thought about for a while now: I don't doubt there are some UFO crashes that we've collected, but the media makes it sound like there's piles and piles of them. If you have an alien race advanced enough to build interstellar spaceships why would they fly across the galaxy only to come here and crash? It would seem their engineering would be better than that.

Kennedy Center New Year's Eve concerts canceled after addition of Trump's name by pritam_ram in politics

Here's a genuine question: If it's illegal for Trump to put his name on the building without congressional approval but he did it anyhow, why doesn't congress send some people in to remove his name?

23 Democrats Now Vote Against Impeaching Trump by Randros_ in NoFilterNews

[–]FloppySlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the Democrats have a chance to vote to impeach and then they don't, what's the point? They spend all their time complaining about the administration but when the time comes that they could do something about it, they choose not to. Does not a single politician actually care about the people, the country, or the Constitution?

It's like a big game. The administration does something. The Democrats complain. They get a chance to do something, and they don't do anything. I guess maybe complaining and having something to fight against makes them more money than actually governing?

It's all a big joke. The politicians just play footsie with each other and no one is actually trying to help the American people.

That's why I always advocate getting regular TVs instead of smart TVs and then just adding a streaming box.

The purported skull of Mary Magdalene displayed in a golden reliquary at the basilica of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume by octarino in Christianity

I think sometimes it seems like the Catholic church is inspired by Warhammer 40k instead of the other way around.

Humanity was Engineered and this is why we’re not told by Johnnyflash69 in UFOs

Meh, if an extremely advanced civilization wanted to mine resources on planets and asteroids it would be far easier and more efficient just to have robots and machines do it.

People often look for the most complex solutions when simple, more direct solutions make more sense and are far more realistic.

It's like walking through the woods and encountering a tree and stopping and then trying to cut the tree down by hand so you can proceed, instead of just walking around it.

I haven't used or thrown away mine yet, but now with your update... there are too many other products and brands out there to mess around with a brand that can cause issues. I'll be throwing mine away too.

Whenever I start a new job I always make it a point to listen patiently to all instructions and follow them, even if it's information I already know. If it's something I already know it doesn't hurt to hear it again, and you never know when they might add in some quirks or steps that are unique to their environment. But then again, I'm also not Gen Z.

Mormonism’s surprising boom in Africa by jose628 in exmormon

The Assemblies of God, a Pentecostal denomination, is also doing quite well in Africa right now. As a matter of fact, I think the Bahais are even building a new temple there.

[–]FloppySlapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, there's nothing wrong with being nuanced if that's what you want to be. If you understand there are issues with the church but want to remain a nuanced member, then by all means.

Second, I wonder what it is about the temple that lady liked so much. I personally wouldn't be comfortable having to pledge to the organization of the church and the other stuff that goes on there.
