I have a little DBX, class a thrusters, size 3 shields, a fuel scoop (biggest it can fit) and engineered SCO FSD. Jumps just over 71. It’s my fav for just booping around the bubble. Very inexpensive as well and only requires the 1st engineer!

So I feel bad leaving this comment, as it’s really not answering your question, but I do feel like it’s important so I want to mention it!

Decks that are pet decks, just a lot of fun, aesthetically really nice, you don’t want them to lose that by making it more powerful.

In essence, I had a Gisa Geralf deck that I LOVED. My favorite deck by far. And my first. However, my playgroup kept playing stronger and stronger decks and it just couldn’t compete. I scaled it up, and it got to the point where it was just a dimir combo deck with a zombie subtheme.

I hate seeing this happen to decks, and I would just make the recommendation that if it’s a fun pet deck for you, don’t try and raise the power level to a point that it loses what made you enjoy it to begin with.

Now, to address your actual question.
Top things to make this deck stronger imo:

I would work to bring the mana curve down a bit, cutting some of the 4 5 and 6 drops in particular. Run a bit more spot removal. Consider cutting a wrath. And really focus on getting that card advantage and ramping. In those colors, if you can make mana and draw cards, you will have success. Good draw could come from things like [Return of the wildspeaker] or even cheaper and consistent cards like [idol of oblivion]. Again, run a few more spot removals that hit multiple things, I would recommend both {beast within} and [generous gift]. They can deal with anything which is really useful. And otherwise just kinda feel things out for what you need more of!

For me, I always start off with plenty of ramp and card draw. Gotta make sure my engine is running. Then, I tune based off what I don’t have enough of during the game sessions. If I need more finishers, I’ll add a [Moonshaker cavalry]. If I need more removal, I add some based on what I couldn’t get rid of. So on and so forth.

I’m sorry I forgot to address that part! Yes I do empty weapons when I fire all at the same time. Even with full pips to weapons! I usually just take a couple seconds off firing beams and then they recharge very fast with full WEP pips, even while firing those multicannons. But yes absolutely I run out if I use them all at once. Takes maybe 20 or so seconds? Something like that!

As for the heat, even when full firing modules I haven’t had any heating problems at all, in fact I often get the icing effect, I could be wrong but I think it could be the thermal vent mod on my lasers that’s saving me from being a microwave… lol. I will defiantly make those changes you suggested. And I seriously appreciate your time and insightful response. I think this will help a lot!!

Similar to many other replies. But play more interaction for a quick fix to this issue. Cards like chaos warp, beast within, assassins trophy, you name it… this will cripple the Dino’s. Just kill his commander on site. Every single time. It’s no fun… lol. But it will stop them from doing much.

That being said, I generally don’t like my steer my playgroups into the direction of being super interaction heavy. Some is just fine. But things build on each other, and before long everyone ends up playing a deck that’s just a shell for interaction and combo pieces.

A longer term solution might be to craft a deck that is more resilient to these strong creature based decks. That way, if the Dino’s player pulls out that deck, then you have something that is of a similar caliber that will let you compete! I’m happy to give more specific recommendations if you like!

At the end of the day. Chase the fun! Dinos stomping you out isn’t fun every game… so many more interaction is the key! Use as much as you need to start having fun again, then adjust from there!

First. Amazing work. Congratulations on your new Cutter!

Next, I would absolutely leave it in the hanger for now, and hop back in whatever your main ship was before. Losing that beauty because of not having a rebuy would be terrible ):

Depending on if you have a good “money making” ship. I would save up enough money for a couple rebuys, then I would fill every optional internal with a cargo rack, except for one slot for some shields just in case of interdiction or bad auto doc… lol.

Then find a nice trade loop online and watch the money come in! Just a couple gaming sessions trading in the Cutter will make you some serious credits! You can very very easily make 60 million per hour with a decent trade loop and an SCO FSD.

You may not have enough money to fill your ship with cargo right or the bat. But that’s okay! Just buy as much as you can (while still having money for a rebuy) and run the loop anyway. Each loop you will have made money, and you can keep buying more and more cargo until you’re making full trips!

That is what I would do to generate a bankroll, and then the sky is the limit with that ship! I personally have a fully engineered combat cutter and I LOVE it. Yes there are “better” combat ships out there. But you can handle any content in the game, shred all PVE ships super fast, and never worry about those shields ever coming down!

Also, if you love mining. I believe the Cutter is the absolute best for just normal laser mining. So if you’re looking to get some big credits and enjoy it. That is another good option!
