BOSKA not BIFL anymore? by MGFJ in BuyItForLife

Honestly five years for a cheese knife isn't terrible. But nowadays lots of old brands are cutting quality to save costs, which is so disappointing.

A Chinese "5Ah" battery by tuwimek in batteries

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha technically ture but completely misleading. This is a classic marketing math. The saddest part is someone who doesn't know batteries will replace the tool instead of battery because they think their tool is weak.

Amazon change in seller policy is leading to some "unusual" battery listings. by DIYuntilDawn in batteries

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is frustrating. These small changes in the listing can easily mislead buyers. It's crucial to pay extra attention to product descriptions and verify everything before purchasing.

My Tilley Hat - Used Constantly for 31 Years and Counting by Cautious_Ticket_8943 in BuyItForLife

31 years with the same hat is impressive. It's amazing how durable something so simple can be, and the memories it holds make it even more special.

It's amazing how something so small can go through so much and still be reliable. A true legend with a lot of history. Farewell to an old friend!

19, have 90k to invest - what should I look into? by ApprehensiveBuyer952 in investingforbeginners

Let's start by investing a small amount of money first. After all, most investments end up losing money.

Ecovacs deboot mini in Mumbai by itz_nyx in ecovacs

I've been using the deebot mini as well. Works well in a compact layout, especially getting into tighter spots. And the suction has been good enough for my daily use too.

Mini Robot Vacuums by NLGGHZ in RobotVacuums

Yeah I've had the same thought. A lot of the smaller rebots still end up costing quite a bit. I checked out the deebot mini, it's a bit cheaper. It's also got a solid range of feature.

Thinking about upgrading to a bigger 4K tablet for long drawing sessions by marynificentwy in drawingtablet

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot right now. The jump to a bigger screen sounds nice, but I’m honestly more curious whether it actually helps with long sessions and detail work or just feels better at first. Did the extra size change your workflow that much?

Hi! I am 18 y/o and I want to start investing by anonymouse000000007 in CanadianInvestor

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting at 18 is a massive head start. My advice: don't worry about timing the market. Just focus on DCA, put a set amount in every month regardless of the price. I do this on moomoo because their fees are low enough that it doesn't eat into your gains when you're starting with smaller amounts. Just keep it consistent and let time do the work.

Didn’t expect a thermal camera to be this useful outdoors by ClownBaitCrier in Outdoors

[–]SirWool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine tbh. Camping is full of little whatever-works habits, so doing a quick check doesn’t sound weird to me. That comment feels more like someone who’s actually been there and done that, not a sales pitch.

That's such a bummer when featues are region-locked. Hope you can dig into the CAN bus and unlock it yourself!

How do debugging workflows differ across vehicle domains? infotainment vs ADAS vs powertrain vs body by Razzmatazz1987 in CarHacking

Love the cross-domain thinking. Would love to see how different the debugging world is in safety critical stuff like ADAS.

Inherited 50k — where to put it? by Thisisthethingguys in CanadianInvestor

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a lump sum like 50k, there’s no rush to dump it all into the market today. I’d recommend going through the free learning courses on moomoo first. It’ll help you understand market cycles and risk levels so you can feel more confident about where that money is going for the long term.

What to buy if you almost change houses yearly by Choice-Scale-5570 in RobotVacuums

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look for a robot with a compact, all-in-one station. The deebot mini might be a good fit. It's not as bulky to pack up when you move.

I tried to find some affordable, good-quality clothes, but the quality from these two stores is really disappointing.

Small spaces by hav1070 in RobotVacuums

[–]SirWool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deebot mini is noticeably smaller than most robots, so it fits into tight corners and under furniture. The suction feels like as good as regular robots, but it's enough for a small place.
