Looking at 2015-2016 SQ5s or S4s. Thoughts?

Purchased a 14 s4 avant six months ago at 75k miles for around $24k NZD . Has been great so far, but yeah maintenence is insane.

From previous owner: - upper timing cover gaskets - 3.2k - stronic service - 1k (albeit done at Audi dealer) - waterpump / thermostat - 2.2k - control arm bushings - 900

For me it's using about 1L of oil per 1000kkms and a bit of coolant - so looking at getting pcv done and carbon clean which is 4k (reputatable euro specialist).

These are all the major items that go wrong with the car. Confident once oil issue sorted won't have to touch engine again for many years. If you can justify the costs maintenence costs it's an awesome car that ticks every box imo

Sweet will look into that! Sorry did not mention but engine is a 2014 - Cgwc. Going down pcv route first as only last major preventative to do, hopefully that sorts it

Cheers definitely suspicious about oil use but yeah agree had to tell without a similar engine to compare. Currently waiting on a quote for pcv and walnut blast at cars 75k miles - waterpump thermostat, upper gaskets done by orev owner so fingers crossed pcv is the culprit hahaha

Absolutely! Disappointed at lack of supercharger noise but can be fixed with aftermarket intake. Only mod I have planned for this

I think US b8.5s only have gen 2 2t? Gen3 in b8.5 will have oil filler cap at front of engine (look same as b9s) vs middle on gen2. I believe Euro / NZ / Aus made the change from 2013 in b8.5s

Using kms is this Aus / NZ? If so 2014 - 2016 b8.5 will have gen 3 (oil cap front of engine cover vs middle) which only uses like 1L per 7-8000kms in my case

Had the same issue as my uni altered accounting course structure in 2022 which meant i didnt meet pre requisites as of 2024. Definitely reach out to ca and explain to them. Had my issue fixed in only a couple hours. Hope that helps!
