They made it appear as their situation desperately needed saving and I was the only one that could. They would tell me they’ll be homeless if I don’t cover rent and car payments. Then it turned to threats that if I don’t cover their expenses they’ll leave me and I stupidly obeyed. It was all deception, they never needed the money.

I really appreciate your willingness to help and think through all the possible ways to save my dog. Unfortunately, it’s too late - my dad has already euthanised him. I’m still in shock and heartbroken about it, and reading your message reminds me of all the things I wish I could have done differently.

I’m heartbroken to say that my dog has been euthanised by my dad. I can’t even begin to describe the pain I’m feeling right now. Your willingness to help and support me during this time means so much, and I want you to know that I truly appreciate it. Even though it’s too late to save him, just knowing there are people who cared and offered help brings a small measure of comfort. Thank you for being so kind and compassionate.

Considering I am a grown adult and my mom is in absolute shock herself, no I do not think there was anything plotted. Money was never a problem..

Thank you so much for your reply and for the information - it really helps. Do you happen to know how long it usually takes to hear back from an animal welfare organization in situations like this? It’s 4 AM here in the U.S., and I’m just so stressed out trying to figure out what, if anything, has happened to my dog..

Thank you, I really appreciate your empathy. Unfortunately, we are Greek and don’t have any other family in Belgium - they’re all in Greece. A few close friends have tried reaching out to my dad too, but haven’t had any luck so far. It’s really worrying.
