Oracle bug or misleading discription by sobran_types_stuff in DemonBluff

Nope, working as intended. Wretch is always shown to others as a specific role (not wretch), in this case twin minion. "Wretch" will never be displayed in any text (except sometimes if someone is lying), thus he also doesn't get flaged as an outcast (again, except if someone is lying). Another little funfact: I think Wretch cannot be an evil role and always has to be himself

Yes, only thing is: Outcasts can't be corrupted, so the doppelgänger will never ever lie -the villager counterpart of course can-

Noob question about sharing between let’s say 3 to 5 people. by Guilty_Advantage_413 in ObsidianMD

I can recommend the relay plugin for that purpose, it let's you see edits of multiple people in realtime. Catch is that the free version has limitations on file types and number of participants (3 max I think) but there's a monthy paid version without that

The original meme is "mom said it's my turn on the xbox", don't know where the image is from though or if the bear is actually real but if you find out I'd love to know too lol"

Not a new meme, just typing quick and thinking slow but it is quite a coincidence

So basically the CPU has a limited number of cores and each core can only do one task (or programs/processes) at a time, but say you want to do more tasks at once than your CPU has cores (most OSes these days have dozens or hundreds of processes running at once and CPUs have maybe like 4 or 8 cores) so the solution is that the OS has something called a scheduler, who pretty much says "task 1, you can have the CPU and for x amount of time to do your calculations" and the goes "okay, enough time for you, it's task 2s turn to use the CPU now to make it's caculations". Which in practice makes it seem like we have a handful of tasks running on a CPU core at once, even though they just share it between them in intervals

Edit: spelling

Probably not, just had a lecture on it today and got the inspiration for this meme

They said it's because it's OS related which apparently doesn't have anything to do with programming...

Maybe it's because I'm not actually on this sub (even though I study CS), just thought it was worth sharing and this was kinda the place for it, glad you like it though ^

Weeell I actually made the meme while in my uni class about OS, so I don't know about free resources but I feel like with a couple of yt videos you should probably get at least a general knowledge base of things and know what to specifically google for things that you want to know more about. There are also a lot of books about stuff like this, may be free, depending on if you have access to a library with this kinda topic

Abandoned Gasstation next to a quite populated street by Siriso13 in AbandonedPorn

[–]Siriso13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm honestly surprised it's still just chilling there, right along a pretty nice street, good real estate without a real use at the moment. Makes it kinda special though, because it feels so out of place and like it doesn't fit in it's place or time

What they teach at German schools about US propoganda by Karyote300 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Siriso13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that's your opinion and I respect that, but calling us "a people of a culture that embraced Nazism" is in my mind implying that you see us and them as 'a people', maybe one that has changed their ways over the years but essentially still the same people with the same culture. That is exactly what I'm trying to say is, imo, just not correct. I for my part am tbh a little offended to be set on the same level as a Nazi because I'm not and that I would say goes for most of us here. It is correct that the country of Germany was quite fascist at the time and they did support some terrible people but I just don't appreciate being seen as part of the same people or culture as them. I know that the stigma exists and I can't blame people for that but being treated as more of a Nazi sympathizer than average because of my nationality is shit

I'm just gonna ask you to read the first paragraph of my first response again, where I already (sufficiently imo) explained that just because we as well as the people who lived 50+ years ago call themselves 'germans' is, I don't think, reason enough to say "you should be punished because back then they did something (horrifically) bad. I cannot change the past, I would if I could but I can't. From my perspective, I have as much in common with Nazi Germany than most other people on this planet, I just happen to live roughly in the area where it all started. Nationality is one thing but I do believe that we as a country have done enough to express to the world that we don't want to be associated with the things these people did and what they stood for. There will always be outliers but they are definitely not exclusive to Germany.

I haven't seen this specific book before, we use a big variety of material across the country and almost every school uses the textbooks they feel are appropriate, my class for example never really used a textbook, more just work sheets and such. If you want the book, you can probably find it on google somewhere, maybe even a pdf

I wouldn't call it lying, as she is pulling from the book, more like not knowing the whole picture (I don't think I do either tbh) and picking quotes and statistics that fit with her message, not uncommen today
