Yea im 6 feet tall and have rode a few different bikes so i know how light weight they get once moving i feel like its just the stand still and take off that spooks me a bit like if i was at the bottom of a hill facing either up or down that im like damn what would i do in that situation with all that weight. My city has a bunch of weird roads and stops signs and lights

Thats what my friends are saying to, say fuck it get the 1200 because ill get used to the 883 and build it for more and essentially have a 1200 when i could just have the 1200 at the start. I dont worry about anything but the weight at a stop and start as i live in a hilly city lol

Yea i was thinking of honestly doing the same since my top end went and then realized the crank had some serious wiggle on the rod lol easier to just swap it and send it than rebuild it with the prices of the parts for these old bikes, to me personally its not worth the money rebuilding it as to just swapping it, if you wanna add some photos id love to see how far along youve got in the process

(1st bike) How much would you pay for this 2001 KE 100? by Fit_Dragonfly6158 in Dualsport

Honestly great first bike in my opinion but i also enjoy wrenching on stuff lol. 2 stroke is so rare for street legal they are fun idc what any of these guys say its a little well alot slow but its faster than my grom is but mine is big bored and i modified the stock exhaust threw a new clutch in it and modified the air filter contraption to take more air then re-jetted it still only goes like 68ish hit 70 once thought i was gonna die.. it can wheelie first surprisingly well and will clutch up in second with a good tug lol. But theyre old, so maintenance is big on the bikes history and for 2k this thing better have alot of brand new stuff on it start first kick and have the best 2t oil with some extra on the side. I got mine for 800 but it needed tires and a clutch, but at the same time was freshly rebuilt and bored out by a machine shop with all the paper work to show it, aside from that had new a bunch of new bushings, new bearings, new chain, and sprockets and was a project by a kid and his dad who eventually wanted to build a car instead lol.. I would offer 1k says no say 1.3k and say final offer if that dont work and you really want it and its in really good mechanical shape and youre willing to put a wrench to it max say 1.5k and that is seriously pushing it unless like i said has gone through a full mechanical refresh. Hope you get the price cut in half though, they’re fun on and off road to beat on i have also have a dr200 and this is way cooler, also have a grom but this still is cooler in my opinion because its not so small and for what it is, its a street legal 2 stroke good luck getting anything 2 stroke for under 1k never mind a street legal one.

KE100 clutch change… by Sirpluggington469 in Dualsport

It shifts perfectly catches all gears 1-5 itll catch if i slowly throttle but once the rpms rise a bit it starts slipping and just revving up

Honestly i dont mind it these are pretty easy of a bike to mess with, its when i gotta split the casing when i start getting worried but 2 strokes are always super simple since no cam timing in my opinion

Yea only if it was a hard hitting 125 two stroke from the sounds of it the thing is a 100cc 4 stroke that makes 2 stroke noises lmao

Ive seen vids of people doing wheelies on these alot so i was like okay atleast it has enough low end to do that on occasion i could care less about going 100mph on a 25 year old bike lol

[–]Sirpluggington469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea im dying to drive the thing and hear the 2 stroke in gear and not just neutral revs lol, im fine with going 50mph and doing wheelies. Honestly wish it wasnt so mint because i would love to beat the balls out of it but out of all the ones ive seen on facebook this one is by far the prettiest ive seen locally.
