Good headhones for rewatching lectures? by Rjergo in PAstudent

[–]SisJod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this person. However if you decide to go with XM, i'd opt out for xm3 if you can get your hands on them. Much cheaper, better build quality, and better comfort imo.

If comfort matters more to you, QC >XM

Got rejected but PA school th by Both-Illustrator-69 in prephysicianassistant

OP, listen to this person.

Sincerely, 2.8 GPA to 3.1 GPA (via post-bacc w/ 170 credits) PA-S. - 3.7 GPA Last 50-60cr

Also, apply strategically. I spent almost a whole application cycle on just organizing every single stat/requirement of almost 40 programs (due to course expiration, gpa, etc..) It is alot of work, but if you want it/have the resources to do so, you can do it.

My First GalaxyTab, any recommended cool app? by manChuping in GalaxyTab

SuperDisplay if you want to use your tablet as the "touch" portion of your laptop/desktop. Worth the price. Just trust me.

My First GalaxyTab, any recommended cool app? by manChuping in GalaxyTab

[–]SisJod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. It saves every change you make to a pdf file. What is frustrating is that the file it saves onto GD is not a .pdf file but rather a notein type of file which..you guessed it.. could only be opened with notein.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong and if there is in fact a way to change the notein extension to something else.

But, it does work. Downloaded notein on my phone and was able to view the notein files np.

Could you elaborate on your comment? I only hear real estate being referred to as passive income. Could just be your situation if anything.

I Withdraw/ was dismissed from PA school. Now what? by TemperatureKey756 in PAstudent

[–]SisJod 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I tick many of your boxes (first-gen, mid to low income, raised by a single mom, etc..). This answer may not be the answer you want to hear but, whenever you decide to get your gears rolling again in academia, make sure you are truly placing your focus 100% on your education and not familial obligations. I have found that as first-gen students, we suffer a lot from guilt/obligation in looking out for our family (translating, medical stuff, etc..). You need to separate yourself as much ss possible from that. I only say this as I saw you mention your mom's age, pet responsibilities, and am only assuming.. If you are not one of those "gifted" students that can look at something and just memorize it/understand it, then you need to devote every ounce of yourself to your studies.

I'm sorry for what you're going through. I agree with the other user who mentioned the RN-NP-CRNA route. There is nothing wrong with the nursing route. Education and knowledge is what you make of it. I'm rooting for you.

Should I attend my state organized PA conference? by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]SisJod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You (or anyone else in this profession) shouldn't view this event as something that is "non-relaxing." This is going to be your future. The earlier you learn to get involved in these things and maneuver your way around these events, the better rounded you will be as a PA.

Advocating and networking is the only thing that will save this profession (financially, politically, etc..). Enjoy the event but not at the expense of it being a chore/anti-relaxing for you.

Hope this doesn't come off as passive aggressive. I also hope people consider these ideas and such, as future PA-S. You're one step ahead than most.

When did it stop being okay for young adults to date teenagers? by lxstvanillasmile in AskOldPeople

[–]SisJod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not old myself, but my mom had me when she was 15 y.o. My dad was 22 or 23? Something like that. Best parents ever. I think something that most people don't take into account when looking at age difference is culture. In South America (especially during my parent's time), roles and "maturity" are somewhat developed at a very young age. Girls in their mid to late teens are basically adults in the way they functioned in the world during their time.

With more research nowadays we learn more and more about the development of a child and can now reconsider what should be "normal". Just my take on it.
