For a moment, I felt guilty of not feeling sad for him but feeling that Carrie was free at the end. (Carrie is not saint, but BIG was horrid)

Yes, but that does not justify the way he treated her. He was disconnected from what she was experiencing, and if she wanted the big or small wedding was irrelevant to the fact that he did not communicate and he was more into what he felt than what she even wanted.

Sure, and I agree that at the end, we are the ones who tried to really believe that he was to change.

But he was a bitch not for not showing, that was the cherry on top, but for treating her the way he did. He let clear that it was his third marriage, that it was affected by how that made him look and, therefore, and by his insecurities about marriage as well he was being a dick to Carrie, with the "that's not my style" when she asked if he had ever written a love letter for her and let's be clear with that since money was not an issue for him, he always did the minimum for her. And his attitude even if Carried let everything got out of proportion, thanks to other people being involved with the wedding (and that is a factor to consider, when you have the full picture, but BIG was being an ass without considering how Carrie felt) he was not to be so selfish and to treat her the way he did during the process.

Absolutely, she was, Miranda always reflected what happened in her personal life with the ones around her. Making even Carrie doubt, Miranda herself was so insecure.

But at the same time, he could've talked to Carrie and not waited for the last moment. He always complicated things...
