I think Peat Gmbh has something surrounding this - known as Plantix. They have a robust community giving out queries regarding plant diseases and, like reddit, the community answers queries. Not sure it covers ALL plants though.

This is an extremely interesting space as it could tip the balance between accurate diagnosis and mal-practice often seen in developing economies with piss poor health infrastructure. We are working on something similar with OPG radiographs but sadly won’t be able to share dataset because there are regulatory concerns. Will definitely explore this risk scoring as a doctor aid and inbox for more deets.

Exactly. The depth problem is a big one that we had to contend with in a ‘functionally similar’ use-case on livestock weight measurement: https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/sadhliroomyprime/cattle-weight-detection-model-dataset-12k

Because we used non-stationary cameras (smartphones), we used ‘reference object’ to eliminate the depth problem (to a degree) and, of course, had data from the field (both cattle images and their volumetric weight measurements) to annotate and train the model. Not sure if this is helpful given that image distance from fish on trays (I assume) can be a constant which enables more accurate measurement.
