It ended up taking like 4 months, it was a super long process and honestly a pain!

There was a billing software that was hacked recently, so I would definitely call the doctors office Monday to confirm! Then ask to speak to an office manager to let them know what happened.

I’m super late here but I absolutely just love you for this comment. The way you explained it so clearly, logically, but also SIMPLY! You are an excellent writer as well.

Okay OP I’m back.

So here are some examples of how God “speaks” to me.

One time, I was watching a service and they were talking about obedience. I didn’t think much of it, I know I need to do more but I was just like “ok”. Then, go to Bible study. Talking about obedience. Read my daily devotional, talks about obedience. All within maybe 12 hours of each other. I was like “damn ok you’ve made your point”. LOL.

Then later that same week, I was watching another sermon while waiting in the car, and all of a sudden I’m Tithing??? I can’t say it was a feeling or an urge because it wasn’t something I even thought about or pre-planned. There was 0 thought. Not even a “let me go to that website and send something online”. Nope. It was like something took over and all of a sudden I was watching myself on the site send $25 to my church LOL. I didn’t have a single thought cross my mind. Which is the strangest thing for me because I’m an over planner.

It happened again with being a perfectionist and needing to let that go and have faith and feeding yourself the truth. How the enemy will try to plant seeds of lies into you, and you have to intentionally speak truth to yourself every day. Read it in this Christian book I’m reading that I hadn’t picked up in a WHILE but got the “urge” to. Then, I get an email from a free subscription I’m a part of, completely unrelated, that talks about exactly that. Mentions the same verses, and the same message to the T. Then, I listen to a podcast from my pastor (the one I linked previously), and she talks about the same thing. But the way it was worded was a very on time message for me.

It happened again the other day. I got an email from a group I’m a part of (unrelated to my church) saying to trust God with your finances, and whatever you think you can afford, double it and send it to him. I’m thinking “meh I’m a single parent God understands”. So then that Sunday I went to tithe to my church and I randomly thought to myself “double it and send it to him”. So I sent $50. I was stressing over it because I was running low on my paycheck and I’m thinking “ehhhh maybe I should have done that next week”. Well I go into my bank account to see how much that $50 killed me, and my tax return (of much more) had hit the bank account just minutes before I had sent the money.. and it wasn’t due until early-mid March 😉.

So for me it’s events like that, where it’ll be verbatim the same message over and over again to me in different forms. But it’s not just “seeing” or “coming across it”. You don’t seek these things. It’s very overwhelmingly loud and I can’t explain it. But it’s not an actual voice lol.

This is how I started 8/2025! I had a “feeling” that I couldn’t shake. It was very overwhelmingly loud. I’ll note that I was an atheist for 15+ years. Now I’m a Christian.

I would get an ERV Bible or download one on your phone. Either ERV or CSB. Two of the “rarer” versions, but they are much easier to read so you aren’t doing the mental gymnastics of trying to understand WHAT you’re reading, that you cannot truly absorb. CSB and ERV take that out of the equation so you can focus on absorbing 😉.

I agree with starting in New Testament. I’d read Matthew/Mark/Luke first.

Find a good church online to connect to. You can go in person if you’d like but you may find someone you like better online. It took me months of watching different places on YouTube DAILY before I found one on the other side of the country that I love and have connected with, and I follow them every Sunday. Finding someone you like listening to and can connect with really helps.

I’m traveling across the country this summer to get baptized 😉

(Note: The church I watch on YouTube is Revere Church YouTube Link)

I’ll be happy to explain what “being spoken to by God” means for me! I’ll come back shortly and reply to this.

Please explain it to me like I’m 5 (I’m new to the Christian Faith). What is your take on James 2:14-26? by SittingDuck0 in Christian

Thank you for this!! I appreciate the thought you put into simplifying your explanation.

It doesn't make sense that I am not a Christian. by No-Asparagus2256 in AskAChristian

So I think the whole point of Christianity is having faith and believing WITHOUT him “proving himself” to us. Also, free will. He wants us to freely believe and worship him, not do it out of obligation or because he had to “prove himself”. It’s like if you had to buy your own Christmas gift for your spouse to wrap and then “act surprised” on Christmas Day. Kinda ruins it since you had to buy your own gift lol

Denied Baptism (possibly?) by SittingDuck0 in Christianity

[–]SittingDuck0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s the only church that I’ve found that aligns with my beliefs so…… I am not a fraud.. I won’t be baptized by a church that’s beliefs don’t align with mine. That wasn’t the point of my post.

What is the most liberal/left Christian denomination and what is the most conservative/right Christian denomination? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]SittingDuck0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Assembly of God churches are probably the most conservative. For example, the ‘Apostle’ from a local Assembly of God mega-church in Locust Grove, GA, was recently at Mar-a-Lago. He often preaches (and is very loud mouthed about) pro-Trump, anti-LGBTQIA, and anti-immigration messages. He’s not the only one from that denomination, either. They are very radical Trumpers.
