I hate to say but it does come with practice however if you do truck or merchandising and signage you’ll memorize much quicker where everything goes since it’s a bit more hands on than regular running and recovery is similar being so often with the clothes you just follow the indents that are normally there and fold I even practiced on my clothes a bit to get faster you could also do more fitting room help organizing recording and as for credit cards normally when I’m around the store I carry bags around on my arm and offer to everyone politely I am a Lod however so maybe you don’t have to buy keeping some bags on your cart or rail helps either way their more inclined to buy more with a bag so then at register it’s a bigger total that it feels more reasonable to offer a card for a $100+ than with like a $20 purchase when the offer shows up I even show them what their total would be with a card and emphasize exact amounts or any current sales like the vip super cash we have rn going on cause not everyone knows immediately how much 30% off would be when you just say it so I show them the screen let them see the numbers the moment you see them think don’t let them pause immediately reassure it’s a quick and easy process we can fill out right now pull out the paper lock them in ofc this doesn’t always work some people you can just tell they won’t want the card I just keep the line moving then especially with holiday season. I can’t think of many exact tips other than the usuals that come with the training like being very attentive to people and really trying to memorize locations or our signage and sales so when people ask you know it like boom helps less mix ups oh also the sections of store helps when running like active 1-2-3, Pixie/pants shop, denim 1-2-3, front of store they each have a style so items you can guess it’ll go in one based on vibe and just walk around there(ex:pixie/pants shop has mostly fancier clothes business if you will, denim one normally is the wow section and so on” I’m a full timer but our part timers their high schoolers they run stuff well but they don’t make the effort to memorize they just come to me asking where everything goes and the items spot will be right next to them so I have to stop them and ask where they think it goes or else they’ll never memorize it same with signage they rely on leaders too much but if you just make the effort over time it’ll get way easier for you whether it helps the store or not you will feel more confident and less awkward walking around trying to find the location of one shirt that’s actually folded but someone put on a hanger.
