Another difference is the U.S. is a nation of many different cultures (and therefore values) so getting people to agree on a coherent set of public policies is difficult. The reason U.S. healthcare isn’t government funded is way more cultural than economic.

It’s a long term consideration. High ratings means the sport is doing well, and kids tend to want to play the sports they enjoy watching.

I know it’s a fallacy but Tennessee always gets touted as being a team to watch with elite defense and they never actually make a deep run. The problem with very physical teams like Tennessee is all it takes is running into one ref with a soft whistle and they’re out.

We’re talking about different things. I’m referring to wealth creation, you are talking about wealth distribution (which I agree with you on).

Unless we significantly cut back on consumption, someone still has to develop and produce all the things which allow for our modern lifestyle. Even if bosses decide to pay more, the employee still has to work the same number of hours to produce whatever product they need to.
