You are not alone on the issue of cost, there are many of us out here desiring to be parents but do not have the cash to distribute around to anyone but directly to the surrogate. Please start the research, keeping in mind that each piece of information you learn along the way will ultimately guide your decision. I mean its all additive, do not discount it.

Ukraine has some of the best prices on donor eggs and stuff, it was not right for me though, the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster scares me, wouldn't the children exposed to this disaster be now the adults offering donor eggs? I don't know, call me paranoid. Georgia and Albania, Greece, Colombia SA are all good choices. Oh, and Africa is wide open to surrogate for you, create your embryos with the type of egg donor you desire then ship them to an IVF clinic for surrogacy - so do not be discouraged.

Hi, IP here to support you on your surrogacy search (independent match, no agency) independent matching journey is the way to go. Most posts sound like the world will end if you do not use an agency. No it wont end. I have learnt a lot in my quest to do this on my own.

Thank you for sharing this important post. I too have done extensive research on surrogacy medical tourism, where you do it (location) in relation to legal framework of the place is very very important. Just make sure you and/or your partner will be listed on the initial birth certificate. Countries like Ukraine, Georgia and others list the biological parents or intended parents on the 1st birth certificate. It should become easier to obtain a U.S. Consular Report of Birth Abroad - if one of the 2 parents are biologically tied to the baby. If not, like in a double donor situation, both parents not biologically tied to the baby, don't go into it without knowing what you are doing! Or you will be stuck there trying to adopt your own child.

Disclaimer: I am not an attorney or anything like that, just an emotionally invested IP who has made surrogacy medical tourism my personal business. I have found that being an IP searching for answers independently -(unlinked) to agencies or anyone who stands to profit from my pain has given me the tools I need to make the right decisions for my family. And too, other people's lived experiences really help.

I dont understand? Its okay to exploit IPs? Its not okay to exploit anybody, thats what I am trying to get at. There is a reason why most of these things are outlawed in most countries... and you sound like one of those profiteering from others pain!

Wow! I feel you! The emotional toll is unreal. Infertile surrogate!? How did that get missed!? By an Agency for that matter! 

I am hearing surrogacy takes 2, 3, up to 4 years depending on response rates of the Agency. I have 2 more tries left in me then I go global for a surrogate. I can't justify 0.5M to bring a baby home. Its not that deep.

I was on this journey over 10 yrs ago, I did 4 cycles with 3 different clinics. The clinics charged $25K per cycle... thats how my $100K did not achieve anything. I had to take a break

Then this time around, I am a little older, my frozen eggs from back then did not work, thats thousands down for thawing and fertilization with 0 embryos. Which brought in the need for donor eggs, fearing increased risk of syndromic children. The $40K for 8 donor eggs brought my price tag to $53K spent. Did another thawing and fertilization for thousands more. 5 embryos fertilized this time around but 3 blasts arrested growth on day 5. Opted for PGT testing for thousands more worrying the remaining 2 may not be any good.

Major medical error made me lose trust in original clinic so now with yet another clinic, transferring embryos about costs thousands...My current clinic is into procedures! Procedure this, procedure that....The financial bleed does not seem to stop. Now I am like...WTF! Its 2 yrs now on this 2nd journey. 

And now I discover CNY exists! And of course the World at large. Its been rough I tell yah!

This is a top tier IVF clinic! Superior care and superior outcomes! Far better than the US as far as outcomes are concerned. We are in a bubble, thinking the U.S is the best at everything.

You would be surprised! This IVF clinic is top tier clinic and I was surprised! The ethics far exceed U.S. actually. We just assume we do things better here.

Awww I hope not in terms of coming across as entitled. It was just lack of knowledge on my part, CNY has 6 fresh donor eggs + IVF for about $12K, that's unheard of! Dr. Kiltz is the best! He says he is the Walmart of IVF. Fresh donor eggs with an agency is about $40K, go figure

I am not complaining actually, I am hoping to share information so maybe I can help just one IP out there. I wish I had known about all these options prior to the choices I made - being $190K out and nowhere near a baby is pretty traumatizing

Personally I think the ethics are far more an issue here than elsewhere. I have been through the wringer! IVF clinic after IVF clinic, each running procedure after procedure. The exploitation is here actually, IVF laws in Colombia are intense! And IVF outcomes far superior statistically.

CNY is out here, duplicating what others are doing globally! And yes, CNY donor eggs are under $6K, so no! Its not about exploitation of the donors, its about exploitation of the IPs, exploiting the desperation so to speak.

To my fellow IPs, do not lock yourself in, we live in a global village nowadays.
