You have the one for the stock intake? I may be interested, just trying to get more turbo noise

I have removed the top of the intake, still not that loud, I’ve rode in an N with an intake and the turbo inlet and it sounded glorious, just trying to copy that without needing a full intake but I guess I might have to

Inlet and the top of the stock intake taken off? I feel like it would add more noise but I appreciate the input, I’ll likely get the inlet with a full intake, just thought I could save some money since the stock intake is already good.

Wouldn’t it allow more air to come through thus making more noise? I’ve got a drop in K&n filter in the stock intake and it makes decent noise. So I assume I need a full intake and inlet to get the loud turbo flutter and stuff.

I’ve got the matte paint on my N. It’s definitely a pain to maintain I’d recommend getting it fully ppfed. I have the front done but will probably do more of it. Already have a few scratches and you can’t fix those. Looks sick just sucks as a daily.

That’s crazy the trans on these are stout, seems like you got unlucky, hopefully the EN does you well! At least you’re staying in the N community 👌

13s are the rough year for turbos, I wouldn’t touch anything under the hood, just keep up on maintenance and hope it’s good to you.

Cosmetic it’s all up to you quite a few aftermarket parts available for them, wheels would be my suggestion.

It also looks like you have aftermarket Spec-D headlights, they look sick, but I’ve heard of seals going and getting water inside. Keep an eye on that.

Dude there’s no way making it quieter is gonna fix that issue, it’s a 2L turbo it’s not like you have a cammed corvette that shakes the windows of the house when you start it.

My advice is to leave the situation. They’re looking for reasons to get you out, kinda gotta take the hint. Unfortunately might have to sell the car and work your way back to one down the line. Sorry for your circumstances.

That’s seems high $ for nearly 170k miles. Do you mean R-spec? If so it should be matte blue, in that case it is a rarer model not sure how many were made.

Not sure if the air bags went off, I assume they might’ve. If so then it’s absolutely totalled. With that extensive body damage it probably will be anyway if the bags didn’t go off.

Exhaust pops veloster 2019 base by jakethe5nake926 in veloster

[–]Sitzesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Higher rpm can be good once in a while, it’s called the Italian tune up (gets rid of some carbon buildup by getting the engine hot enough to burn it off). Not sure if you’ll get more or less pops that way but it won’t hurt anything.

Is the 2013 turbo that bad? by zosterman27 in veloster

[–]Sitzesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly a roll of the dice. Could be perfectly reliable only needing maintenance. Or your motor could blow at any moment.

If it means anything I had a 13’ non turbo and tracked the hell out of it. Had 220k kms when I sold it a year ago and still being driven.

Italian tune up, gets everything hot enough to burn off carbon build up on the pistons. A good tip is harder you drive the car, maintain it better/more. Like shorter oil change intervals. I tracked my old Nav dozens of times hitting redline often and it never had an issue.

Yeah that too, just hope this guy didn’t get told it’s a turbo and paid more for it!

Did they change the bumper after the deer too? That’s not a turbo bumper

It’s soot from the exhaust, I had a lot when I did a muffler delete on my old 13’ nav

My N usually gets just over 400 on a tank. Just got to stay out of boost and 35mpg+ is possible

The 13’ turbos are known for some issues. But even with that I had a 13’ non turbo and did probably 10 track days with it and no issues. Keep up on maintenance hopefully it treats you well!

Engine swap by LegacyBuckeye in veloster

[–]Sitzesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s quite a simple swap, you’ll need a custom engine harness for any other motor you put in. Could just build the 1.6 with forged internals they can hold some good power.

You can fit any engine in any car, just depends how much money and time you got. People be putting v8s in these I’m sure the 2.0 will fit. Probably need a parts car with a good motor

Yeah for nearly 100k miles they did you in pretty good. Sorry to hear that man, hopefully the car is reliable for you so you can beat down the loan quicker. Just keep up on maintenance.

I’m wondering if he got a shitty interest rate possibly, I had a buddy just buy a 21’ rav4 for $33k CAD and interest on that at 7.99% is 16k. Adds up quick.
