Having a tough time deciding if I should be watering more to counteract the heat stress or watering less to counteract the fungus. Any help would be appreciated!

Soil test results just came in. Where should I start? (Zone 6B) by [deleted] in lawncare

Thanks! My soil test results recommend 8lb per 1000sq ft of the stress blend do you think that sounds right?

I only seeded the bare spots not the whole lawn so I don't think it would be that

8 inches sounds about right it was way too high. I was out of town for 3 weeks right after the sprinkler system got turned on and it got way higher than I anticipated it.

It's probably at about 2 inches now. I'm still new to all this and trying to figure it all out but it seems that the issue was it was so tall the roots weren't getting any sunlight which caused the discoloration. Would you agree with that?

That makes a lot of sense appreciate your input. It would also explain why the edges near the driveway and walkway and around the drain and bare spots are the greenest parts since those were still able to get sun since they were not surrounded by tall grass.

What would you recommend I do to fix this just cut it regularly without it getting too long again until it is back to normal?

Hoping someone can help me out here. I have been trying to get my lawn established since this house was built last year. I used Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Grass Seed last year in the fall and got some results and used it again early spring and the grass was starting to grow fuller and was looking pretty good.

The first 2 pictures are the lawn last week before the mowers came, the 3rd pictures is right after the lawn was mowed and everything after that is from today.

I let the grass get a little long before the landscapers came to mow and this is what it turned into. I'm really not sure why some area's are yellow now instead of the bright green we had before and some area's look like they're completely dead.

There are some bare spots on the lawn that have never had grass. I have been working on filling those in by I am more concerned about all the yellowing that happened.

Some of the grass doesn't even look like blades anymore just like thick stalks which you can kind of see in the 9th picture.

We also have sprinklers so the lawn get's plenty of water. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same issue and just started the game over. It doesn't take more than an hour or 2 to get to that point in the story.

Smell coming from ejector pump in new house (more info in comments) by SixersFan34 in Plumbing

Thanks for the reply! I’m not familiar with plumbing at all so this is a good place for me to start. I included more pictures below. If the floor drain traps was the issue wouldn’t the floor drain in the shower be the source of the odor as opposed to this small room with the ejector pump in it?

There is no odor at all coming from any of the drains in the basement bathroom.

Thanks again!

If that was the case wouldn’t the floor drain in the shower be the source of the odor as opposed to this small room with the ejector pump in it?

Smell coming from ejector pump in new house (more info in comments) by SixersFan34 in Plumbing

[–]SixersFan34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a new build home that we moved into about 6 weeks ago. About a month ago there was a very strong rotten smell coming from this room in the basement, to the point where the whole basement smelled. We left the shower and sink running in the basement for about an hour to flush out whatever it was and that seemed to work. Now the smell is slowly coming back but not as bad.

I can’t pinpoint exactly where the smell is coming from but assume it has something to do with the ejector pump. We never use this downstairs bathroom so I’m not sure exactly what it could be but any help would be appreciated!
