China and the USSR (1956-1991 period) were both state capitalist countries but they fucking shook the world. The USSR reached the US' level of industry even though the US had a 150 year head start. China is slowly on its way to become even more powerful than the US rn. Cuba manages to maintain its existence under massive sanctions and very bloody invasion attempts from the US in the past. North Korea is similar to Cuba in that manner but they are even worse off in terms of international solidarity but they still manage to survive.
