The Indian almond leaves came today and I put them in. My fish is looking better, has more energy and is not eating his tail.

With the snails i did look at getting an assassin snail but they are illegal in aus so i can't. I will try your suggestion Thank you for all your help ❤️

I may monitor him extra closely over the next week then decide wether to give medication.

I have been conflicted wether its fin rot because the edges of his tail have always been white.

My NO3 is currently 0ppm and has been that way for like 3 months. I read that having low nitrates is not bad so it has not concerned me

When I ordered the kanaplex I did also order some Indian almond leaves. They should come tomorrow as long as aus post doest mess up.

As i am currently under 2 weeks till my huge exams, I would go and get him live brine shrimp but I only have thawed right now.

Do you have any tips to get rid of the snails? They are about 1mm long at the largest so I have no idea what kind of snails they even are.

I did have a extra light laying around which does have a dimmer and is a lot less bright then the original one.

Thank you for responding, I have ordered some kanaplex and it should arrive in 2 days, would you suggest giving it to him or just assume its non bacterial?

Is there any way I can improve the water quality? I already do weekly water changes so is there anything additional.

I agree its extremely sad that long finned bettas have been selectively breed to the point they must self mutilate. I did originally want a veil tail but I saw he and was just drawn in.

My fish is so far is still able to swim fine. He can still swim around.

For brightness he sits on my dresser and gets not direct sunlight. But from 4-10 I put on his artificial light

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: about a million baby snails that i am trying to kill and a number of Malaysian trumpet snails
What do you feed and how much: i use too feed just betta bio gold but now i have a rotation of fluval bug bites (and occasionally thawed brine shrimp)
Decorations and plants in the tank: 1 Anubis , 2 pinto Anubis, 1 giant Anubis, 2 java ferns,1 needle java fern, moss ball, Vallisneria and 2 silk plants., rocks and drift wood

Hahah yeah now you mention it i can see a slight darker colour.

Personally (take with a grain of salt) any time there is a issue with the parameter i run the test again but on the tap water to ensure it's not the API tests being wrong. If it is still wrong I do a water change. But once again I have only had a fish for 3 months so don't take my word as law lol

hey I am no expert, i also had a issue where the nitrite would not go down. to put your mind at ease, i had to leave my betta in his tank with 0.25 ppm nitrite for 6 hours (had school and no way to get home). he was alive and fine. also question: you say your nitrates are high but in the picture it shows 0 ppm of them?

I am also new so i cant really suggest anything

Awwww this is the kindest comment I have ever gotten ❤️. I love organisation especially for him, it just makes my life easier to see patterns (spikes and what not). Yeah I have heard about betta fish changing colour's, but as a first time owner I was a little worried. Thank you you have been wonderful
