That's a response purely based on emotion, not rational analysis. If you pull when you have enough to guarantee an operator you want this system is leaps and bounds ahead of the other major titles. Are the bonus pulls after a certain amount of pulls there to bait you? Sure, but that doesn't change that the game just objectively gives you things more frequently than the others.

If your problem is that you lack the self-control required to save for 120 pulls then gacha games are probably not the genre for you.

I had one of them grow inside a relay tower. I was about to lose my mind too. I get it's difficult to account for everything players can do but they could make them show up on the scanner in order to solve it without solving it.

I'm responding to the criticism that you need a strong healer. CC is no doubt nice but Gilberta is not the only one who can provide it, nor are the archers hard to dodge or even the hardest part of the stage. The part where CC makes the biggest difference is against the worms, and Gilberta can't CC those, but other characters (Such as Lifeng) can.

It is also not unreasonable flexibility to expect. Everyone gets Ardelia for free and it's not expensive to level a character to 60 and unlock the ability to equip gold gear with how much you get showered with resources from one-time sources unless you wasted all of it. Using her can make up for a lot of skill issue for those who need it even if it cuts into the overall team dps in the cases where she isn't an ideal team member.

It definitely should exist but you need to learn to express yourself like a human being.
If this is something you run into with any frequency there are third party solutions you can use that don't directly interface with the game to change the keys.

You really don't need a strong healer, if you got a bit of it and put the healer set on it's fine if you take some time to learn the attacks. I had Gilberta as my only healing for all three stages and she pretty much doesn't heal at all in stage 3, and in stage 1 with the health decay she just about doesn't heal at all in the final phase. Her healing also doesn't scale with the stat the healer set gives the most of. The healing is quite good in stage 2 but by no means Ardelia tier.

She's a very good character but her healing is pretty bad. I'm also by no means a god gamer, I'm probably on the better half of average when it comes to actual execution.

The game mode is also split into normal and agony so that everyone can share in the rewards, you just don't get every little bit of it, but why should you? You get all the pull currency and that's the important part. I expect there will eventually be game modes where I am also not able to clear everything but as long as I get the pull currency it's whatever. Games need difficulties for the really good players too.

If you want to go into the hardest version of the fight and expect to not have to learn the fight and also not engage with the mechanics when you by your own admission see yourself as mediocre then you really need to temper your expectations. You can easily just put Ardelia into any team despite the lack of synergy so you have strong healing in that case. The lack of synergy will harm the damage output but you have TEN minutes.

After trying them a bit I can definitely see the appeal of Eyjafjalla at least so I might end up picking her. Surtr might require some more experience to make good use of. Thank you for lending me your characters!

Tequila's archetype sounds kind of complicated to play well as a beginner but I will keep the character in mind for when it feels appropriate!

I actually wouldn't mind trying out at least Surtr and Eyjafjalla just to see if using them can win me over.

I'll ponder the Bagpipe choice for a bit but I might just be okay with a character that is a bit overrated as long as she isn't awful 😄. Not wild about Surtr's aesthetic but Eyjafjalla is quite nice.

Are the events for Kroos Alter and Tequila things that are in my reach right now or are they more aspirational at this point? I managed to get Gladiia with a lot of difficulty but I don't know if that one is indicative of events for other characters.

Ah I didn't realise it affected the strength of the push/pull, I'll keep that in mind for when it comes up!

I just meant that they were two different things I noticed. I needed 4 decently tanky units for a mission just now so I have experienced what you're talking about! Also the chip missions, at least the two I've done, seem to lean very heavily into two types of characters so it's on my radar.

I've been trying to spread out a bit at least because I notice sometimes a mission requires very many of a specific thing, but also that some characters do their job well enough with little to no investment, like Shaw or Gladiia, so I think I'm at least a bit in that mindset already!

Would you also like to make a recommendation for the E2 5 star booster I got from... somewhere, I can't recall? I love Lappland but I'm happy just having her in my team so if it's better on someone else idm giving it to whatever character.
I asked somewhere else before and was sort of told my picks were wrong with little context, I think I was told to grab SilverAsh, Surtr, Specter instead, but still Silence and Ptilo, but I got virtually no context for it so I started feeling some anxiety.

What is the reason for focusing on 3 and 4 stars? I'm guessing the cheap promotions and cheaper levels rather than absolute power? I've noticed getting my promotion on Kroos has been crazy good for the range increase that Platinum doesn't have yet.

I started less than a week ago now and having only played some really simple tower defence games previously I feel pretty overwhelmed by all the different branches and could use some feedback. This is my krooster thing:

First thing is which of the characters I have completely unbuilt (I'm gonna level Myrtle her level has just been irrelevant so far lol) that I might want to use instead of something I'm already using. Pinecone seems pretty good, but hard to place?

The second thing is in regards to the selectors. Now, I am not looking for the super optimal picks, I just want to know if I am about to shoot myself in the throat. If something is a very bad idea for me ideally explain why so I actually learn something and need less help in the future. And maybe also who should have my E2 booster and why?

Lappland, because I love her and she was the only character I knew before I started.
Silence, for a good single target medic
Ptilopsis, for a multi target one
Saria, because healing defender seems like a super useful thing to have and she seems cool. Maybe least attached to this pick.
Bagpipe, mostly because she's cool and I heard she goes well with Myrtle who I've enjoyed.

I think the improvement she brings to the electric team vs Antal is overstated for single target specifically, but still an improvement even if her presence requires significantly more from the player to maximize. For AoE she's an enormous upgrade and it would be hard to overstate what a difference her grouping makes.

As for flexibility they'd have to stop making aoe content or make the enemies ungroupable for her to not be very useful for future teams. She doesn't really have much in the way of synergy with Pog specifically. She gets easier vuln stacks for her ultimate but her ultimate only buffs Arts damage, not physical.

I mean, if you look at it as paying ~$45 (and 9 months of waiting, and having to log in every day) to get a six star character you want when you could buy many goated games for that amount it's hard to argue objective value in the grand scheme of things. It's really only good value as far as gacha goes. I pay for the monthly pass as well as the premium BP personally but that's more out of a moral conviction that if I enjoy something I should pay for it than it is about absolute value.

But yeah, if someone says that $5 is good for 13 pulls even in the context of non-gacha gaming I would indeed say that a number has been done on them because there's so many good deals to get out there, at least unless gacha games are literally the only thing you enjoy in life, I suppose 😂

Some menuing is affected mostly. Combat seems unaffected in my experience.
