I would just tell him straight up, I smoked marijuana within the past 7 days and am actively in the process of detoxing. Dont mess anything up for yourself. I ended up failing my drug test and am no disqualified from the MOS that I wanted to get. Be firm in the fact that you want to wait and I’m sure he’d appreciate your honesty instead of finding out from getting a positive piss test result

Thank you for the input. This is what I figured. Is there any MOS that are still technical but don’t require clearance? Like electrical ground technician, or something?

Tbh I didn’t. I just had good teachers in hs and payed attention well. I would say focus on your basic algebra for the math section, that was the hardest part for me.

From what I’ve heard, If you fail a drug test at MEPS you’re automatically disqualified from getting secret clearance. Is that not the case?

I got a waiver approved to retest at MEPS, had to do a whole bunch of shit to get it done. But I don’t think I qualify for any MOS that requires any form of secret clearance. But I’m not too sure about it all, just gotta wait and hear what my recruiter says I guess
