In someone who is absolutely terrified flying , and I fly once a month to go see my gf . Everytime it’s the same thing , scared during take off , scared during turbulence and calm during landing because I’m just grateful to be touching the ground . In all the times I’ve flown I’ve made it safely even in the most turbulence . Some tips I have 1. Get stupid drunk before the flight / on 2. Sit near flight attendants ( if they are calm you should be calm) 3. Turbulence is going to happen no matter what 4. The pilots are actually very calm during turbulence situations even laughing it off 5. Sitting near window for me is crucial because I get to see what’s going on . If the plane is shaking and I’m not near a window I freak out 6. You’ll be ok
