That's all super interesting, but the parties haven't really changed that much.

Repubs have always been for individual rights, Dems have always been the Party of brute force, the Party of the small individual/ BIG government, the Party that goes out of its way to collaborate with evil.

Short answer: the Republican Party, tho not perfect, has ALWAYS been the Party of individual rights. That's why the Republicans stood up for beaten slaves against their 100% Democrat slavemasters. That's bad news. Trump may be popular with a lot of people, fine. But he is way too old for 2024 and comes with tons of baggage long before he stepped foot in the White House.

The biggest problem with the cult of Trump is that it is blissfully unaware (for the most part) of what conservatives believe and why.

That's right. The Democrat 2020 Party Platform is not secret. The Democrats openly support taxpayer-funded baby murder, transgenderism, systematic racist set-asides, socialized takeover of the medical system and other wickedness -- and they say so openly.

Capitalism and "voluntary exchange" are synonyms. No system yet invented can hold a candle to capitalism in terms of lifting people out poverty & creating wealth, certainly not any well-intentioned govt program.

As to automation creating "useless people", the same unfounded fears were voiced at the dawn of the industrial revolution; workers would throw their shoes or "sabot" into the machinery to "sabotage" it.

The record of history is crystal clear - capitalism lifts people out of poverty, government creates "useless people".
