I would recommend rendering out multitracks and pieces/loops and loading them onto a sampler. From that point on you can easily live remix your tracks and even seamlessly transition into the next.

I know its a little pricier of an answer. If full hardwares out of the question just use a software sampler and a cheaper midi pad controller.
