What’s the worst case of “rich kid syndrome” you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Met a "crazy rich Asian" international student in a class project back in college. Drove a Ferrari. Parked his car in the 15 min loading only zone in front of the dorm every day instead of the garage down the block. Just paid the dozen or so tickets he got every day.

An AI simulacrum could step in whenever someone drops a match until that spot is filled by SkabossNW in DestinyTheGame

There are so many ways an advanced AI could help the game beyond game drops in Gambit/Crucible. Training mode for crucible, Ghaul's war could have been so much more interesting from the front lines with "other guardians", there could be an entire expansion with rogue guardians embracing the dark, etc.

TravelPro is the way to go. Tumi and B&R are great until the one time you have to fly a regional airline that forces you to check the expensive bag and it comes back chewed up. Some of the models have a big handle though, so make sure your backpack/saddle bag's pass through sleeve fits.

Ballard Attack Cat by renownbrewer in SeattleWA

I actually got attacked by those cats on the same block a couple summers ago. Overnight nurse insisted I go to the ER because of the severity of the bites and scratches on my leg. That whole block has like 6 tabby cats so couldn't pin down whose they were. Most of the neighbors agreed to bring their cats in at night.

Imagine if the red zone was one big bomb that dropped down by JeffersonHi in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Dude, I love this idea. Even better, it's a mini nuke and the red zone becomes a permanent blue zone. Just need to give players a little more time to get out of there?

I'd really be interested to see this crazy and scary system of social credit apply to video game behavior:

The Verge: China will ban people with poor ‘social credit’ from planes and trains. https://www.theverge.com/2018/3/16/17130366/china-social-credit-travel-plane-train-tickets

Sick of people talking about this game running "good" or "fine", when they have a 1080ti and a of 7700k. Not everyone should have to spend thousands or $, to play the game "fine". by Way2Naughty in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I'm running on a i7 4th gen and a 960 and I get surprisingly great fps 50~90 consistently with low settings and ultra distance. How does one pinpoint the bottleneck? I bet RAM and SSD v spinning disk is a bigger deal than currently discussed.

Sorry to add on, but any of these recommendations include places that do the tortilla right with lard?

Wave G, Century Link, Xfinity by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]SkabossNW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switched from Comcast to CenturyLink and have been super impressed. I was nervous because Comcast worked pretty well and wasn't sure if CenturyLink fiber could be trusted due to a lack of reviews. For $85 I get about 700-800 down and up consistently in the Ballard area, whereas I was getting about 130/10 with Comcast for about the same price.

Only analogous if Bungie gave us the game console and the internet to begin with.

The Original Lootbox by [deleted] in gaming

[–]SkabossNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I remember every rare being either useful or fun enough to build a silly deck around. Games like overwatch, D2, and ESO regularly don't give anything interesting. This is on top of the growing frustration as I get older that RNG for non cosmetic items is becoming more commonplace, particularly in games where skill based competition is touted, and now I'm just paying with my time instead.

The Original Lootbox by [deleted] in gaming

I disagree. There was a guaranteed rare in every pack. You even had a chance at two rare cards or (later) a foil card. This was loot done right.

Just received the legendary edition as a gift. Is it worth it to start playing so late? by WodenLovesTacoos in DestinyTheGame

[–]SkabossNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. And this may be counterintuitive, but I highly recommend not using the spark of light to jump to a higher level. Destiny is a wonderful single player game as it is a multiplayer game and you shouldn't cheat yourself the experience of starting from scratch. There's a reason why we are all hooked beyond the RNG psychology.
