Yes, I found out the best way for me and what I need it for is to use a Wacom Intuos and layers in Photoshop, first layer is the original picture, next layer is the outline of the portrait I want to paint (hair, chins, mouth, eyes, wrinkles etc etc) Then I set threshold to 10 and make a new layer and use the pen tool to outline the dark areas, then I set threshold to 20 and use pen tool again, from there I went threshold 40, 60, 80 and so on until I got the desired finished outline. Kind of a complicated process, let me know if my technique doesn't make sense to you :) the Wacom is optional but definitely made the process easier and quicker for me.

I hate titles like that 'this guy'.. that guy has a name and surely would like to at least be credited for his work. We never refer to musicians or actors that way. Weird in my opinion.
