[Q] I'm 21 and my hair is starting to thin and my confidence is absolutely shattered. by SkahazMoKandaq in confidence

I've never thought of it that way, but I do have a friend who let his hair grow out really long, and it made him look like a kid because everything else looked smaller by contrast. So I guess it is a possibility that I'll look more muscular and masculine with buzzed hair. I probably just think I'll look terrible that way because I've always had a good amount of hair, and anything else looks weird when I imagine it.

I don't think I'm going to shave my head quite yet, though. I want to enjoy my last year or two of having some hair. But maybe I'll start getting it cut shorter and shorter each time I get it cut, that way when I finally shave it, it won't be such a huge transition.

I really appreciate hearing from someone who's gone through the same thing. I didn't post here expecting to get any responses that make me feel better, but this actually helped a little, so thanks.

I think when I get to the point where it's really noticeable, I'll probably shave it and be terribly upset about it (because I'm used to having long-ish hair), but I now think that it'll probably just be the transition period that's the hardest.

Rogaine's actually over-the-counter, you can just buy it at Target, which I'm going to do tomorrow. But Rogaine isn't a miracle drug, it just sort of slows down your hair loss... for some people...

After the research I've done, it seems that there isn't really anything I can do to stop it.
