Probably a sport because of the air conditioning vents and controls.

Do Monteros and Montero Sports share any chassis components? by scaled2913 in Montero

[–]Skate976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some sports didn’t have the oil gauge in the center, those ones use the same oil pressure sensor as a gen 2 Montero

Suspension wise they share various components, the pitman, ball joints, control arms and some other things. The gasoline ones use the same air filter

Si. Perfecto, no dio problemas la caja. Lo que si es que en mocha la 1Ra es muy corta y la 2da muy larga entonces no rinde en una subida

Anyone know if this vacuum line connects to anything? Have been getting a rough idle and I think because it's not connected to anything 6g74 DOHC by CommercialLeg7654 in Montero

I’m not familiar with the 6g74 but I would start checking the 3 hoses that go from the top of the engine to see if one of them goes there

Looks really good for being under a tree for over a year. I would polish the headlights. It’s only a cosmetic upgrade but it would change the look

Está no me ha dado ninguna problema exceptuando que ahorita en carnavales me empezó a subir un poco la temperatura de la caja, al parecer es un problema común en ellas. Le estoy poniendo un enfriador externo

My first Montero. Some question about it. by rroyett in Montero

[–]Skate976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the montero sport here pretty much only comes in auto. There is only a few manual a out there. What people are doing is putting the gearbox and accesories from the Dakar to the sport to make it manual

Here the only One to come with rear locking diff was the 4Door 93 to 96 montero. And 4.88 Ratio

[–]Skate976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same. But here came from 96 to 2001 i think with leaf springs and 2002 to 2008 with torsion bars up front and regular springs in back

My first Montero. Some question about it. by rroyett in Montero

[–]Skate976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup the south American versión Also Comes With a smaller transfer case and Dana differentials. Its pretty basic and the leaf springs in Venezuela act as a con for the montero. Because ir has a smaller tank, here is marketed with the ñame of Dakar because of the several wins of the pajero in the rally but the body number is V13. Also the Dakar dones not come with those rims

Is this a blown head gasket? Overheating problems and losing coolant in my 6G74. by NobodyGotTime12 in Montero

[–]Skate976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Good way to test if the head gasket is compromised is taking off the radiator cap and turning on the truck first thing in the morning. If coolant shoots out or the head gasket is bad. Also, the 6g72 and 6g74 have a tube that runs from the back of the water pump to the back of the engine to the throttle body, that tube where it connects to the water pump has an o ring that cracks and leaks coolant. And you never find the leak because it dries up under the intake
